Hi,

we are developing a low budget fantasy online RPG called 'arcrise'. Currently we are looking for 3D models that suit our game especially player and non-player characters.
We will pay 25US$ or 50US$ for each model that we will use in the game plus you will be noticed in the credits. The price depends on the kind of model and its quality. We are not asking for exclusive rights we just want the right to use your models in our game. If you think you could contribute take a look at http://www.arcrise.com/models/ There you will find a gallery where you can upload rendering shots of your models so we can decide which models are suitable.

Some technical notes:

- only polygonal models are supported
- models should be in .3DS, .OBJ, .LWO or .ASE-format
- polygon count should be somewehre between 1 and 50000
- normal and bump maps are used for per pixel lighting

For any further information you can send an eMail to info@arcrise.com

Sincerely,
Thomas

well I'm interested, but your link doesn't work, so I'm not sure what exactly you are asking for. If you mean to pay 25 to 50 for an elaborate organic model you are kidding yourself though. But if you mean innanimate objects, that makes sense.

Sorry, for the broken link, typing error. I edited the previous post and it should be working now.

We know that 50US$ are not much but as I said we are low on budget. We thought some of you might have some already finished models which they would like to sell. We are not asking for exclusive rights so you can resell your models(just like on turbosquid.com).

The models do not have to be normal mapped but we are supporting normal maps. Currently we are deriving the normal maps from the model's maps(diffuse or bump) and geometry.

Our ingame rendering engine is an isometric game engine. Therefore the 3D models will be prerendered and converted by one of our tools. This is why our polygon count varies that much. All the lighting effects are calculated in realtime using a normal per pixel gained from the model and its maps. We are targetting 15FPS on a P3 500MHz and some lowend gfx-card. Probably there will also be a Mac OS X and a Linux version.

At www.arcrise.com/art you can see some renderings of the models we will use in the game and one ingame shot called 'engine' so you can figure out what it will look like.

The game itself will be a free online RPG but some of its features will only be available to paying customers. So it is a kind of shareware product.

So if we make the models, and you want to buy them, when would we get payed? Now? 5 years?

Are the types of models listed in your gallery the ones you want made?
