This is my last Demo I did with Bruno-Olivier Laflamme at the NAD center (Montreal). It is an integration of 3d into live plate. The work was divided this way:
Pierre Lalancette:
-All tracking (3d equilizer)
-Plate color correction
-Trackers removal
-HDRI
-Robot animation and integration
-Rotoscopy, lighting, passes, render, compositing
Bruno-Olivier Laflamme:
-Modeling & texturing
-Car destrution
-Explosion effects & particules
-Space shots
-Editing
-Rotoscopy, lighting, passes, render, compositing

We were aiming for realism with a funny edge, not neccessarely for complexity. Any comments are welcome. Thanks!

I watched that like 10 times. I am very impresed. Now that goes down as one of the best student pieces I have ever seen. Amazing composite. SO, I have to ask. Is he really that athletic or was that CG too? Hi rolls and flips looked way to real. Five stars from me.

That was great. The compositing was fantastic.
I think that guy was doing all that stuff for real. He really is Nad man.
Nicely Done.

Wow! Thanks all. I worked really hard on that thing, so I'm glad you likked it.
RickStefani: No 3d in Nadman performance. He did gym until he got 16 and just kept it all. It is amazing how easely he does those things.
Roadrunner4D: It took us about 2 months to do the whole piece. What didn't you like in the ending? Is it because it is too humoristic? I'm glad you like the animation because I did it.:D
Mwhahaha: Yes, he's Nadman! I'm glad you like the compositing as I did a lot of it.
Cyrenn: 5 stars! Thanks. We used Softimage XSI 3.5.1 (modeling)
Photoshop 7.0 (textures)
3D Equilizer (tracking)
Shake 2.5 (compositing)
Vegas (editing)
Premiere 6.5 (sounds)

Jea this is a really great job, wawawiwa i cant belive the compositing is so reallistic. The beast part is a deamage of car..how didu do that..was it a real car moved and composed with 3d fire shots..or it was just a car made in 3d, I`m very coriuse how did u do that..he didnt touch that car when he jumped over it..so i think it was made in 3d. I must say this again WAWAWIWA!

Thanks guys. The car part was done by Bruno, so i'll try to explain in as i remember what he told me. The car was there during the live footage. He did a model of its geometry and projected a camera projection of the shot itself on it. He took this 3d car and made it a big bigger than the real one. He made it move and use rotoscopy to remove any showing part of the real car.
If you have any other question, do not hesitate.

Thanks Hebert. Team work is the key.
Samuel:
Amazing and beyond... Wow... Thanks.
It is japanese. I found it over the internet. Don't ask me where, i do not remember. I think it says:
"the %$#!%#$ with you! Who do you think you are!"
But i do not speek japanese. It was for the fun of it. In reality, the guy says in french: "C'est tu assez show pour toi ca?"
"It is hot enought for you?". It is an hommage to the Simpson.
