Gal' in armor (first head ever)
using: 3DsMax5+VRay
This is the first time i'v done someone organic. This started out to be a dwarf in an armor (inspired by the WoWarcraft intro), but it turned out to be one of my classmates, in a women type armor :)
I know the render isnt great, and her hair is just BAD, but it was improvised under a minute, and this is the first thing i really need your help with: how to create hair in Max5??? I know that the head mesh is very bumpy, i will make a new one after done with a lot of other things. There wont be much detail on the armor, as im planning to put a robe on her too. BTW, im planning to add some postwork rain in CorelPhotopaint, and blur the background, to finish it up.

bumpy head and hair make it look like a character from gumby or some other clay-mation show....and the armor is huge!!!!!!
Its better than what i can do though, lol

Doesn't look like you can go anywhere in that armour - only 4 sets of joints. Try adding another one below the knee and at least one more for the upper body - because as it is just to turn around she would have to make a turning circle the size of a football field.
You also need to fix the lips.
For a first head - and I presume body as well :D (can't imagine you were modelling headless bodies before this :D ) - I would suggest you try and get the anatomy right so you do not have surprises on your next head.

Yes the armour is very huge one her. I agree with others shes going to have to use a craine to move around.
But keep practicing. You can only get better not worse.
Each and every model you do will only get better results.
I see you have used some HDRI on her:D Very cool.
Well keep the updates coming would like to see how this model improves.
Keep up the hard work.
Oh Karikoga hows it going. Haven't seen your Zulu character in awhile. I checked out your site and noticed the model. By the way Greta looking site.
Even better. I just got done watching Zulu Dawn the other night. LOL! Man I love that film. I tried to actually find the ending song in the credits. But no luck.

hell yeah, that armor is a "bit" BIG :) i had another look this day, and it doesnt look the same :) I was very tired yesterday :) BTw, the everything is boxmodelled polygon smoothened. Thanks fo all the ideas, i will try to improve it, and remake the head as soon as possible.

Woooooo, now i made a new render, after spending a few hours with pulling about 100000 vertexes :), so the head looks a bit better. Hell, now that i got a good rendering engine (VRay) everything looks strange. Nothing is the same. Now i can see where i need to improve the head. This was supposed to be a girls head!! :D But it rather looks like a horse :) If the real gal would see this, she would kill me :) I really had no time to improve on the armor yet. I made a new piece of hair for her, it looks better, but still BAAAAD.
Still my most important question is the hair: HELP ME WITH THE HAIR!!!!
I plan to improve on the armor by cutting it into smaller pieces, about 4/5 pieces on the upper body, and cut the lower ones too.
hmmm, maybe i should make a horror caricature out of her head :)))

Hey Dude,Why dont you try Shag Hair for crating Hair?
Its a plugin which you can search in google.
Some Crits now: Frankly speaking, you need to improve your modeling skills but you've got tht HDRi properly!
work more on the face and the limbs..

Well i must say the body isbetter with this head ;). But you still need to fix the head. Why dont you post a wire...

cause the wire is way tooooo complex to see any errors, as its already smoothed :( and converted to poly :( . This was my big mistake a long time ago...
Yesterday i found a new hair plugin, its a bit unstable, but ill make an update as soon as i got some time...
