I have never had so much trouble with the cookies in a forum. I click on the "mark this forum read" and nothing happens. I read all the topics in a forum and on the main page it still says that i have unread topics in the forums. I read all the topics and close the window and when I come back it resets and shows all the topics I just read as being un-read.

Then durring odd times everything on the entire threedy board shows as everything being read....

I know it is not me since I read lots of forums every day and the only one I have problems with is this one.

Maybe the people that run this should consider changing to IBP 2.01 or something like that.

Just my thoughts. I love Threedy and 3dTotal in general and the people here but the system sucks.

I bet the issue is that the skin that they use is built for this version and most likely cannot be used with the next version of VB.

And the problem probably starts with the skin, it is not very well made.

the skin is just icons, its the code that tells them where to go ;)

also this forum is based in uk and most of the people visiting it are around the world so it seems to have a little difficulty with local time sometimes that might have an effect.

Why not switch to IBP? I am just curious. There are so many more things that can be done with that program and it is so much more stable.

Your VB database can be converted to IBP pretty easy too. Only difference is the skin, that would have to be remade to work with IBP but that is not super hard.

Not trying to be difficult but I am currious.

well to be honest, that you would have to ask Chris, maybe make a suggestion in the threedy discussion forum. ;)

Ya I just purchased all 9 of the CDs...I think I donated enough! haha

IBP is Invision Power Board, it is the newest most detailed forum system out there right now and is totaly worth it!

check out my forum at www.boiseareatrade.com

I will add some more links but I cannot think of any off the top of my head, except some forums that are private for club members only.

My forum is the older version 1.3, but my skin wont work with 2.0 so I have not upgraded yet, and the upgrade is totaly awesome!

PS. Please dont laugh, my forum did not take off very well so there is not much there, but it gives a pretty decent idea to what the program can do.

I don't know. I have always come to the conclusion that the current format is optimized for organization. Nothing extraneous, nothing cluttered, nothing changing, (and as it does not change, it does not require an upgrade), and besides, many forums must rely on the artistic design of the forum, but here, the art of the members does all the beautification. And so far, it seems to be sufficient.

Persnally I don't see what's wrong with the vBB's (threedy and all others).
They've got plenty of nice posting and viewing options, which is all I ask for in forums.

Cookies work fine for me and the problem we had with the forum times should've been solved with the adjustments we made some months back.

At this point of time there seems to be no need for spending money on a new set of forums.

I read this board from 3 different PCs in my house and 2 at work. I use IE (various versions) and Firefox (various version). OS ranges from Win98 to XPpro. Hardware ranges from a K6/2 up to a P4.

Never had any problems ever, its must be you

Althought vb 3 has a cooler interface and so ( abit confusing and heavy thought), i think this one is working great. Don't think the main problem of the foruns is the skin or the vb version.

If I see another charcoal-themed forum with flashes of orange I'm going to be sick...

I like the skin and Threedy works well for me. There's no point in changing it really, but I suppose one day it might be nice to change the graphics a little...

ya, i have never had any problems with these forums. It is just your pc man. And hey, computers are very wierd, it might act perfectly fine for one site, and then other sites my not even show up because u have certaint settings on your pc. XP Pro wouldnt let me install half life2 cuz i had the settings set to classic instead of xp so there is no reason to change ANYTHING in the forums, and i really dont think that they are going to change the whole forum for one person (not to be mean or anything).
