Hey guys, I need some help regarding these areas of CG.

For some of the projects I'd like to do, I'd like to build a 3d version of my set from photos, much like those done in the first Matrix, as well as shown by paul debevec in his research. I think the appropriate term is photogrammetry.

Anyways, as far as I know, this is a bit like camera mapping. My main question then lies therein:

When doing camera mapping, one cannot texture the side opposite that of the camera, yet, in those scenes that have been rebuilt from multiple photo references, all sides of an object are well textured.

How does one go about doing that, especially with 3dsmax? Are the models broken down into parts, and each part textured seperately? Is there a method to this madness?

Any links or programs, or experience regarding this would be great.

Secondly, I would like to know of a good camera tracking program, for use with 3ds max.

I would like to, for example, incorporate a matte painting into a scene with a moving camera, or film characters against a green screen with markers, and later deposit them in a 3d environment, with the camera motion matched.

Thanks!
