Hi,

I'm working on a character and need to figure out how to rig the clothes so they animate with the character.

This is what I'm working on

How can I rig the clothes so that they move with the character? I was going to do a cloth reactor for the movements but I'm not even sure thats going to work or not. Any help is apprectiated.

Edit:
The coat is a seperate object too

There are 2 aproaches you can take.

1. use bones
2. use reactor

for the first aproach you can use skin or physique to wieght the verts to follow th bones of your character. This realatively easy if you know how to wieght verts and doesn't take a lot of extra processing time.

fir the second aproach you need to make the skin of your character a softbody using a soft body collection and the coat a cloth using a cloth collection. Of course you will also need to add the corosponding modifiers. It takes a while to calculate and you need to insure that you don't have any overlaps or you will run into problems. It will also probably require a few tweeks but it can generate really nice resaults with lots of sweet secondary animation.

I was rigging clothing for a loose shirt on a character. I remembered there were some nifty tricks with the spring operator inside XSI. There´s no way to acess directly as this is some sort of legacy function, since now there´s ice and a series of nodes to create the same.
