View Full Version : Clayish finish effect HELP please :)

hi everyone. i hope you guys can help me out configure my light tracer settings and what proper light to use to produce this effect below:

im using vray and im working on my robot optimus prime. i wanted to make him look rougher and more clayish like the above. im using vray light and un-tampered light tracer settings on a regular material. here's what he looks like:

please please help me masters out there.

hello shockgiga

just make a ground plane and turn on GI that is all....in vray
or with scanline create skylight and turn on light tracer
use a tannish color mat and not the gray...

oh its you again mr. maggi :) LOL you always rescue me from disstress :) thank you so much.

how do i use the skylight properly? when i use it, the image isa so bright that i cant see anything anymore.

do you have recommended fixed values for skylight properties?

wow it really worked mr maggi! :) youre so experienced with this stuff. thank god i met you. lol

i overwrited the file and it already shows the newly rendered official clay. :)

i made 4 types. 2 in color and two in gray. here they are:
