sword - need your help

Hey guys i am from austria and thats my first post here. I saw some amanzing renders here so i had some little complexes to post my work here ;P.

Please give me some critics on this sword and tell me what i could do better.
I am quite pleased with the blade and the blood texture but i dont like the handle.
Ah forgive me my bad english i hope u understand it :).

The blade is nice, i agree with the handle it could be bit thicker and maybe you can add some grooves on the handle too.

The handle could be made more decorative.

You can try using splines with Bevel modifier.
with some nice old material on it.

btw, please upload your images as .jpg instead of .bmp
You can do the optimizing conversion using Photoshop File>Save For Web.
It'll reduce your image a lot, without any noticeable change in quality.

Right now, your image size is 480KB........if you convert it to .jpg, it can be as low as 15KB or so. :)
