I've not found anything I've wanted to do on my phone that the iPhone can't do with a FREE app from the app store.

stuff like using your phone like a computer, without software/manufacturer regulations. and doing things that don´t require to buy an app fore, because they where built into the firmware in the first place - and if i want to - i can isntall from any developer i want, not beeing limited to the appstore.
and of course doing standard things like videochat or mms, or using flash etc. which where not implemented because of the stubbornness of stevie j.

You keep saying "buy an app", but you're forgetting that there's a FREE app for everything on the iPhone. They might not be as high quality as one you'd pay for, but they get the job done...without a bunch of stupid menus (Windows Mobile 7, I'm looking at you). I admit, having Flash would be nice, but that's only because web designers haven't started moving to HTML5 (which they should, will and are). HTML5 is cleaner, smaller, faster and less buggy.

But, Flash is nice, if you want a buggy app on your phone.

but i understand your argument - a phone is just a phone. i use my phone for almost everything, editing officedocuments, emailing, surfing, downloading,navi, portable mediaplayer, communication, organizer, camera, notepad etc etc., usb storage, fax. so basically its more of an pda and pmp to me, with businessfunctions and for about 5 % calling and texting.

Strange...I use my iPhone for all of those things, too. I rarely use my phone to make calls. It's mostly just a way for me to stay connected with all of the things I do for business. In fact, there's been tons of times that I've been out, gotten a call/email about a client's website problem and been able to fix it right there on my phone in under 5 minutes. That kind of customer service is invaluable.

You can install any app on your iphone...even if it's not in the app store. You're just taking a big risk (just like on PC). You need to trust the developer. There's lots of private apis on the iPhone...especially now with multitasking...that could do wonders at stealing bank account info, etc.

Is the Cintiq nice? I've been wanting one for a loooooong time, but can't find anywhere to demo one.

Also, I had a Blackjack before I had my iPhone. I had it for 1 year. It NEVER became second nature. I was able to load apps/games/etc...anything I wanted. I could even tether from it. But it was such a mess, I wound up renewing my AT&T contract early and paying full price for two new iPhones.

I've never regretted it.

Plus, in my area of the country, AT&T is the best network.

It’s more so about how well it works with mudbox(sculpting) but you get the picture.

As for me, the first time I used it to make textures; my productivity went threw the roof. It allowed me to try things I would normally do on my tiny tablet. And it's not just because it's larger than the 4x6 tablet. It's more because I can see where I am, where I want to go and it does have a paper like feel, as far as, lets call it, hand eye coordination.

With a tablet, you’re looking at the screen and trying to move your hand on the tablet to follow the cursor on the screen. This throws me off, every time. With the Cintique, your eyes are where your hands are. No guessing as far as hand movement goes.

Well off course there are all kind of aspects to take into account.

You have the spinning of the earth around its own axis (you don't want to end up somewhere in the middle of the pacific ocean).
You have the spinning of the earth around the sun.
The spinning of the other planets around the sun (before you know it you will end up on Uranus or something. Now that would be joy).
The expanding of the universe throughout the centuries.
The shifting of the earths continents (there is the "ending up in the pacific ocean" thingy again)

And probably a thousand more things.

But hey, if you have figured that all out, I want to be the first to know so I can shake some hands with people who changed history. Like Gandhi or Hitler. Or my great great great grandpa.
