Heaven&Hell

Hi all,
I've finished the image I was working on and I've thought to post it here..I've starte with the staircase then tried to set a mood as you can see in the wip thread here:

very nice render, I like thr atmosphere, but the feathers kind of seem out of place, especially the one on fire :p

as for the choppy look it is voluntary, I guess you are referring to the zones behind the volumetric (dust) effect, that has been made with a variable density thus making that look..

and the feathers are part of the concept.. :halo: :evil: :roll:

zell: sure but if you are referring to the volumetrics I've used a fluid container to make the effect so the lights are just standard lights..anyway the stup is: one blue area light on the top to provide the illumination inside the room, a warmer spotlight that projects the shadows from the window, a red point light at the bottom and some other point lights near the arc to give some color to the area..

Great concept & nicely executed..I like the atmospheric look of it..I like the featheres too..But the flames on the burning feather looks odd..Other than that it's great work.Hope you do something about the flame.

Very nice concept and style, however I would agree with the comments on the feather. The fire looks a bit out of place, but I like the idea!

ooooo the atmosphere is superb! a muted, yet shouting atmosphere. reminds me of some of Micheal Whelan's stuff.

this is beautiful but I don't think it's finished, you should add something organic to the image, like a human being or an animal or whatever, think that'll make the image cooler, great work though

The title is Heaven and Hell, the feather i would imagine are representive of those from angel wings, falling and buring up as the get closer to hell.
It's not a prue scene, its a bit sureal.

This reminds me alot of Antifan's The Room (http://www.deviantart.com/view/10686622/) , although it was done with a base in Maya, and rest was done in photoshop.

have you been inspired by the piece above...? noticed that the camera angle and the detail on some textures are very similar, not to mention the pillar construction, they're identical :roll: not really accusing you of anything, just want to know if you'd seen that picture before
