Hi !

I'm using Maya for my newest project. I have to create an image representing the interior of an airport. I don't have experience in lighting interiors in Maya using MR. I want to use Mental Ray becouse I want to obtain a photorealistic image. I tryed Final Gather but it doesn't work the way I wanted (I've used it with fine results in exterior lighting but in this case it doesn't work like I wanted).

What is the best way to do it ? Maybe a little tip about the setup ?

Thanks !

Hello Bonciu

You may know it but try gnomononline.com

it is maya specific and has a section of online videos about lighting.....

Hey Bonciu

I'm new to Maya myself (I'm usually use max). But there are a few good places to find lots of good tutorials.

http://www.learning-maya.com/tutorials.php
Lots of tut here, all categorised. So should be some Mental Ray tutorials there.

http://www.3dbuzz.com
Lots of video tutorials for all sorts of packages. And more entertaining than some other video tutorials I've seen. They got a Maya section, and there's also some Maya tutorials in the Unreal Tournament section. Dunno if there's any MR tuts tho. You have to join to download em, but it's free :)

http://www.digital-tutors.com
http://www.gnomonworkshop.com
Both these sites sell DVDs or CDs- a friend of mine had a couple of em and they seemed really good. Pricy tho if you wanna buy a comprehensive range. I'm pretty sure they have MR videos in their libraries.
