I've got this really bad problem here. almost every time I render something with Brazil 3dmax crashes. NOT at random but when it's rendering the edges of the image and mostly when it renders half buckets (sometimes on full buckets too).
Does anybody know what this could be? I've searched all day but could't find anything about it.
Specs
AMD Athlon XP 2600+
512 mb ram
geforce 4 ti4200 128mb
Windows XP SP2
Brazil 1.2.21 - 3DMax 7
[update] Using Brazil 1.2.53 i'm still getting the same error :(

Yeah I get this too. I don't know why it would have helped, but I switched to the DirectX 8.1 driver, then restarted the PC and rendered stuff and it worked OK. I've since switched back to DX9 with no problems (yet).

here's a screenshot with the tskmanager in it.. nothing strange there asfar as I can see. No sudden increase in memory usage.
Rikki : Do you mean removing DirectX9 and installing 8.1 and then test and reinstall DirectX 9 (using Dx 9c)

Nope, I didn't uninstall anything, just switched Max from DX8 to DX9. I dunno why that would affect it though, I think thats only for the viewports.
Something I noticed was it would render fine, but when I added another object it would crash. If I removed the new object it would be fine again, put it back and it crashed. No idea why.

My own fault!! stupid me!
Well it's shows i've still got alot to learn.
There were 2 scenes it would crash on, both with a skylight in it. The settings for the luma server only had the other lights selected and not the skylight
don't know why it would crash near the end of the render tough but ok..

Seems to be an image file crashing brazil, we can't even see the image file (its a background image), we just see some mesh and we need to line it up with the new one, and export.
on export max just freezes and crashes the computer.
any suggestions?
for both being able to see the image,
and for exporting without crashing?
Thanks.
