Hi all,

i'm looking into texturing a box of siggarets (smokes)
or other packaging design!! any tutorials or advice on
doing this.

-would it be better to use one (big texture map) 1024x1024
using unwrap.. editing uwv coordinates or

-use a multisub materials..
using seperate textures eg. front, back, left, right side box?

thanks

In my opinion, as it is a big square, then use the unwrap if you can. It is a little more exact. But both are valid. And in terms of the size, it all depends on how close you are going to get to the packet of smokes. If you are going to have extreme close ups, then go for as large as possible, I would say 2048x2048, though it all depends on your graphics card and how large a texture map it can handle. It wont effect the render, just your productivity. A larger map will always give you a little more room to play with.
