Hi
I have just start on some HDRI experiments, but I have a problem with the background to be as I want and still have the reflection effect.

I've seen pictures that uses HDRI without the ugly background result. Anyone who got an answer to my prob?
It would be very greatful!
thx!

Here Is a picture of what I mean... and I don't want to use a box to cover it up, because it will be included in the reflection!

You can just apply the environment at material level.

You can use a box, sphere or whatever you want to cover it up and to not show in the reflection.

In 3dsmax go to the properties of the box and disable "Visible to reflections/refractions".

Or you can just do what DeadlyFreeze said.

Hmm weird. I don't know what you did wrong, everything seems ok. It works here, see.

About the other method. I think you can put the HDRI in the environment map of your material(i think it's only for raytraced materials).
