Hello great 3D poeple,

I've been reading these forums for a while but never posted, well now it seems i have a problem that i hope somebody can help me with.

I'll try to give as much information as possible about this problem.
I box modelled myself a cartton penguin, rigged and smoothbound, did a planar UV map from the front, and a planar UV map from the back, and rearranged the UV's a little. Now when i try and animate, the texture stays put while the moddel moves :( . I assume this is to do with the way i planar mapped the model, and because the UV's arn't moving when i ANIMATE (using the bones) the model. So, erm, how can i fix it.

I hope i've given enough information there, I have to hand this in to uni on wednesday for a module! so it's becoming a bit of an urgent problem.

Thanx for reading, appologise if this is a simple problem to fix, i just can't see how to do it.

Ta!

Are you sure your textures are set to "Texture -> Explicit map channel"?

Trying my best to help, but I'm new to texturing, myself. Hope you get this solved.

Hmmm! I'm using Maya 6.01. Is that a 3dStudio menu option because i can't find anything similar in maya.

I think i need to somehow lock the UVs to the position of the verteces...maybe! I've looked through the manual, tried different setting...nothing makes the texture follow the model.

Re-mapping with cylindrical mapping might work but i wanna avoid re-mapping the whole model. It's not lazness, i'm just restricted for time.

CRISIS Averted!!!!

I've finally fixed the problem!!

For reference, incase your interested, it was because i'd bound the skeleton to the model BEFORE mapping the UVs. probably a newbie mistake! :D

thanx for help :o

Bah, sorry about that; my mind is still set in Max mode. :p
