Hi, I use 3dsmax 7.

I'm following the Joan Arc or whatever tutorial. I don't get this part:

The return of the basic cube :).

As in the Crash Bandicoot LPM tutorial, the base of modeling is a cube, the simplest primitive in 3d...

Apply "Edit Mesh" and Collapse Stack.

I also don't get this part:

For the beginning start in left viewport, extrude one face from the cube, like show on picture on the left. Repeat this process and adjust the vertexes.

To see through mesh, activate the mode "See Through" in Properties of the object.

A short cut can be configured to pass from one mode to the other, check out Customize/Custumize User Interface and "See Through" Toggle

Can anyone help?

Basically creat a box, and convert it to an editable mesh. This tutorial was written a while ago, now a-days we have Editable Poly. This tool has more functionality, and I would recommend you use it instead.

I assume this means select the face it says to, then use the entrude tool on it. The shortcut for see-through mode is Alt+X.

ok first off lets start with in the propective window i need you to make sure you have both smooth-highlights with a check mark and edged faces with a check now also do this in your front and left window...to do this if you havent done so alrdy right click the work prospective and left and front and a window will come down there is where you check that...ok i assume you have the image set up in the backround alrdy and know how to make cube....

here im am gonna tell ya what i did seems to look ok for me dont know if it is completely right but here is if you want to follow

select the cube and click the edit window and in modifier list select edit mesh ....lol for collapse i just right clicked (while haveing cube selected) the edit-mesh and collapse all window poped up i said ok....then i went down to polygons and srolled down and selected the extrude and moved it on the left view window...and again and again i think that needed to be done 5 times...then i selected the option to change verts and moved them to what it looked like on the tutorial....i hope this help...at first when you start to extrude polygons it doesnt look right keep going and make it look like the image on the tut...
