im getting really close to finishing my new character. now ive just got to get rid of the seams.

i know i can use maya to paint in 3d to blend and even color the texture. i also know that it makes a new texture file with these changes assumably. but i dont know how exactly to do it.

i try to paint on my surface with the tool and it says some objects may not have the proper texture assigned ( or something like that).

any help?

Make a selection across an area of the texture that is similar to both seams, and copy that 50/50 to both of them.

You can let the ends that come together overlap. Then make an alpha map to blend them together.

Never tried myself. But i read this option in 3D world.
