how can i apply my UV map for the car, and still add the reflective car paint?

Whenever I try to add the paint, it erases me UV, do I have to manually apply each skin detail or what?

Please help me with this, one of the things I have yet to learn that is crucial to me

thanks a lot

There is much more than one reason for what may be going wrong..

But firstly have a habbit of stating which software you are using.

One possibility is that you are having a UV overlap.. so the whole object select when you paint on ine surface the underlaying UV cords also recieve the same surface data. Or you are using a software that supports UV sets. And the set that the default is applied to is without cordinats.

The other option that directly comes to mind is you would have to prepare a layer set in order to be allowed to paint without changing the existing texture. And not all softwares support such a feature.
If yours is one of them you may want to prepare two textures that you shall blend into each other in a photo editing software.

Honestly these are just set because they are mistakes generally made. But your problem is everything but clear to me
