Hi: this is my first time using this forum so first of all i want to say hello all and that i hope that i can be as much help towards all of you as i know you wil be towards me. Well i don't think that made much sense but you get the point right? Well back to the matter at hand...

I am a thinking about buying 3d total textures but in my line of "work", not really work since i'm only a student, a texture is what makes the model what it is (since everything i model is low poly) I don't want to go to a job interview later on and have someone look at my work and say those are really nioce textures and have them be 3d total textures.

So my question is is buying textures "cheating"? because it wouldn't be my work... should it be done when preparing to go find a job? What do you think?

I think it depends on the job youre after. If you go for a modelling job or a level designer or a animator youre textures arent really what youre best quality is. If youre going for texture artist of course its most important that you make your own textures.

And if you say you used textures from 3dtotal they'll love you anyways ;)
