We currently looking for 3d modellers who have come from a Post Production background to come and work for games companies. Please don’t stop reading now!!!!!! Due to the new consoles coming out in the not so distant future companies are currently working with a lot more graphics power than before so it isn’t the Low res jobs that you would traditionally associate with the games industry. Having character poly levels increase from a few thousand they are now work with many 10's of thousands. You will also have a lot more scope in the ability to explore your creations as you will be able to directly interact in real-time with your work rather than working on just a scene as you probably are currently limited to. So all in all these are exciting times, which you should at least take the chance to see what these companies are now able to do.
