Greetings!

We are a young team of hobby developers who are currently working on an online multiplayer game called OX.

Ox combines the idea of ‘Tic Tac Toe’ with a 3D-shooter. Everyone knows ‘Tic Tac Toe’. You draw a 3x3 grid on a piece of paper and start placing ‘X‘s or ‘O‘s. A player will win if he/she manages to create a horizontal, vertical or diagonal row.

This idea is changed the following way:

Firstly you do not play the game with two players anymore. Instead there is a red and a blue team. Both can consist of several players that control an armed low hovering vehicle called 'Glider'.

Secondly you do not place your marks by turns as it is traditionally done on paper. How is that accomplished? The right to place a mark is eliminated. Now you have to fight for it. In a level there is an object called ‘game stone‘. A game stone represents the right to place your mark on the 3x3 grid and appears at random positions within a level. You can collect it by flying through it. Moreover you can drop it everywhere. So instead of placing your marks in the grid on paper, you have to drop a game stone into a 3D 3x3 grid.

The 3D 3x3 grid is placed at a central position within a level. If you drop a game stone onto one of its fields, the game stone will change to a ‘X‘ if you belong to the red team or to a ‘O‘ if you belong to the blue team. After a game stone was placed in the grid, a new one will appear at a random position.

If a player picks up a game stone, the game stone will be placed under the player’s glider. That way everyone can see who the carrier of the game stone is. All enemies must try to destroy a game stone’s owner because as soon as the carrier is destroyed, the game stone will be dropped and can be collected again. That way an opposing team can try to take a game stone away from the owner’s team. The owner’s team must try to protect the owner in order to keep the game stone.

Levels in OX are landscapes. A player won’t be able to fly over high hills so they can be used to structure a level and direct players and game-play.

The game is played in rounds. Each round that is won counts as one point. A team will win a round if it accomplishes to create a horizontal, vertical or diagonal row in the OX-field. If it is not possible to create such a row, none of the teams will win. After every round that is won (or that cannot be won any more), the field will be emptied and a new round can be started.

The team that wins the most rounds is the final winner.

For 'Ox' we use our own 3D-engine which was started as a standalone project. We spend over 6 months on the engine in order to have a good technological base for our games.

Currently our team consists of 4 members: 1 programer, 2 graphic artists and 1 sound designer. All members developed games as their hobby for a long time. Each member has got 5-6 years experience.

We would greatly appreciate some feedback, ideas, suggestions, etc., so please don't hesitate to visit our website @ http://www.devdrones.com

Also we are currently looking for more members, especially competent coders and level designers, as well as graphic artists. So if you are interested, please check out our requirements page, which you can find here (http://www.devdrones.com/index.php?mainmode=4)

In case I've chosen the wrong forum, please move it with all my apologies.

Yayaya, pretty well hidden your mod forum I must say. ;)
I know, probably because this is not a gaming forum, but mostly for 3d. Well, anyway, thanks for redirecting. ;)
I still do hope to get some more resonance though.
See ya!
