i tried animating the dummy that came with 3ds max, you know the colourful skeleton.... its in one of the menues..
anyways when i tried animating that i had to move EVERY single joint to create a movement. Is there a way to make him just go with the flow.. like if i pull his wrist ill pull his arm , and if i pull enough ill pull his whole body.. or will i be stuck with moving everyjoint in animating, just wondering.

like i said, i dont know much about cs and bipeds, i use bones most of the time. set up some ik/fk solver and use wire parameter or/and use the reactor controller. there is a pretty decent Character Rigging tutorial that came with max, look it up.
there is actually no easy way, a good rig takes some time. you might want to have a look at motionbuilder - just have a look at 3dbuzz.com for some video tutorials to see how it works.
also my max 7 help and tujtorials dont work, i dont know why
