View Full Version : Need help with unwrap function

I'm currently working on some Texas Scene in 3ds 6.0(i'm a newbie).I have been working in 3ds for a month now and i am ready with the modelling stage if a house in that scene but i need to texture it.i have got a texture made by me in fireworks that has a text-grunge effect on it.I need that texture on 1 side the other walls need other textures.How do i unwrap it or so to do what i said?

Just apply a UVW mapping modifier and set it to cube. Then collapse that and apply a UVW unwrap modifier and work from there. You'll have to do some adjusting and tweaking to get the UV's right. Once you have it how you want it just take a screencap and paint over or apply the texture you want over the UV's that correspond to the correct mesh in XYZ space.

You're probably a bit confused, as I would be, so here's (http://waylon-art.com/uvw_tutorial/uvwtut_01.html) a good tutorial that explains the unwrap function in depth.

nah i'm not that confused...besides i discovered myself how to that stuff but i still have sme problems..i'll read that tut you recommended me ...thx
