I`ve got a problem. This problem is my stupid brother. He`s got about 5(!) P2P programs and he`s taking up all the line we (me and my...brother :smug: ) have.

I want to divide this line into 2 parts or make a "limit" to him.I`m an admin in our home (internet is to my PC, then by LAN to his) I don`t know any program with which i can do this, so i`m asking you, Threedy users for help

 Hope to see some help soon

EDIT: :xx: Sorry bout that my great Administrator. I`ll punish myself for this :wall: I thought it will be better to post it in Offtopic, but i`m wrong as i see :)

Moved to General Software and Hardware help.

Xagoth, please refrain from using swear words. There are adequate ways of expressing one's self without having to *-out words. Thank you.

You're the server and he's the client, right?

Netlimiter can limit your download and upload speed, google it and try it out.

just some extra advice, if your brother is using a bittorrent client, then netlimiter will have very little effect, because torrenting "floods" alot of open ports. The best thing to do in this case is set up a proxy or firewall to block out the higher end ports :D

ps. p2p isn't exactly legal you know?

I know it`s not legal but i`m not downloading through this, it`s my brother (BLAME HIM YEAH BLAME HIM! :p )

I`ve got a Sygate Personall Firewal if someone cares about it :p :D

true your not downloading the illegal software.. however if you name is on the bill, and the "man" comes looking for you, you will be in trouble, your in essence a network admin, you are responsible for all activity on your network ;)

I think the best solution to this problem would be to walk over to your brothers room and tell him to share the bandwith... its not good to over tech your family or girlfriend/boyfriend.. TRUST me :P
