Actually I have an opinion on this subject... here goes having read the guide several time and being a huge fan of the late SIR Doug Adams I have been watching the trailers with baited breath... and there appears to be content in the trailer not actually present in the books! Now please dont get me wrong I aint totally anal (just 87.43%) but there was easily enough content in the books that they can pad out at least five films and I hope that the apparent new material doesn`t spoil it for true fan`s... bit like lotr!! If i`m wrong please tell me as I would like to hear other opinions, I am really looking forward to seeing it but I just hope they havn`t holywooded it up to much!

I have observed certain things I would like to mention
1, Ford is black? It doesn't really matter but I don't see the purpose of it.
2, Who is that Yamalamayumba played by Malkovich? He isn't in the books or is he?
3, Marvin is awful, he looks like some japanese toy.

I have to say the third trailer was the funniest thing I have seen in a long while.
Looks like it will be a very interesting movie.

As far as I can see Malkovich is playing the big bad lawyer that the Vogons work for, but that doesn`t explain why he is on little legs (I smell a gimmick!) Zaphod Beeblebrox`s heads in the books are side by side not one under the other, the idea that one was alsways focused and hyper whilst the other was kinda spaced out was good in the books, Big one here Trillian and Arthur KISS... I dont remember any romance between the two (they have a kid in "mostly harmless" but that is Trillian using Arthurs em... airmiles!!) and my final observation is the scene where they seem to be getting hit in the face with shovels..... What is this the three stoges? :wall: :wall: :wall:

I heard that the Malkovich character was created by Adams specifically for the movie before he died. Seems like a religious or maybe political leader, just a guess though.
I agree about the heads, how can he have a bird cage over it now.
Also Marvin does look alot like the Sony Qrio robot.

Japanese toy or not some reason from the trailers and the website I am loving the Marvin character.
