Hello everyone!

I am trying to learn Cinema 4D. I see so much great work here and it inspires me to be just as creative.

Please go easy on me with these first 2 renders I did. It is not 100% complete as I have not made the back of it yet but I will not be doing any more work on this.

It seemed to take me forever to get the Material for the metal tip to look close to what I wanted.... still isn't perfect I don't think.

I have circled what seems to be an issue I keep running into. I am sure this is just noobness stuff but it's really irritating :D

Hi,

About your first attemp, i can say it's pretty good. You have to work on lightning and soft the edges of your object to improve your scene. See you later. ;)

Oh you poor doomed soul- welcome to the phenominally addictive world of 3d. This is a somewhat beginner work you've posted, but I think you've really gotten off on the right foot :). This looks a heck of a lot better than my first mistake with 3d studio max. As briefly as I can before I pass out from exhaustion, I'll try to help you out.

Consider applying more complicated materials to accentuate the object we're looking at. This looks like a pretty streight forward shader. Why not make it more plastic-like with some extra shine to make it stand out better. The places you've circled look like pinch points that may have come around from your modeling. I don't know C4D very well, but I'd say take a second look at your mesh and make sure the verticies aren't overlapping, crossing, or in any way looking wierd. Remember that a good model starts with a clean mesh.

I wish I could be more insightful, but the fact that I don't know C4D from a hole in the ground makes it difficult to help in a specific way. See www.3dtotal.com and try some tutorials. I know that's a nasty and broad recommendation, but it's sound advice. :)

Very best regards,
