"Two teams. Ten players. Ten boost-boards, similiar to the ones used in alike ancient sport called "surfing" - two engines attached on the back of the board, gravity module on the bottom of it... we won't give the technical specifications here, you can buy the holo-book in every control station with the Empire's logo and learn all that you desire to know. The players are hovering inside the 30 per 30 meter sphere, made of "italic material" - transparent only for the observers from the outside - with two holes on the opposite sides. The teams need to put the metal ball inside it. Yes, they play with metal ball, that can be used for knocking out the opponents. No worries, our players are 100% trained professionals, dressed in power suits - they almost feel no pain. The suits absorb the hit energy, generating eletrical charge, that paralyses hit area. The teams collaborate to "shoot" 20 "goals" - when they do, the game is over. Whoever shoots them first - wins. But that's not as easy as it sounds - the hole is 4 inches bigger than the ball itself. And the opposite team will do EVERYTHING to stop the opponents from winning."

This weeks challenge will be to paint a scene from the finals, whether it's shooting a goal, knocking out the opponent or two team line up before the match starts. Think of the action, dynamism of the shot, perspective...

Remember - the prize for winning the Challenge is 3D Total Texture CD of your choice.

Deadline - Wednesday the next week - 1,5 week of time. Post your WIPs for constructive critique, give your opinions and... have fun.

RBL, hmm...i guess what michael trying to say is, to get people not being cheated...so we should post our progress until it finish *we can see how we works (just guessing, dont know for sure :crazy:)...and the rules are in Speedpainting Challenge Rules section in first page of speedpainting challenges forum :D...

Post your WIPs if you want to, that should be. :) If your timeframe allows that. You can also post the finished ones as we did till now, too.

The time - that all depends on the complexity of the scene. Ryan Church is making a speedy sketch in two hours. But generally three, maximum four hours per sketch.

Hmmm... OK. I thought that with wips you meant, skeches, designs or ideas before the final one.

I think that it would be necessary in this comp. The brief is too big to keep in mind and draw it in one time.

Ok enough puns for now, The description reminds me of the Blitzball game in Final Fantasy X.
Anyhow, I will try to get something in this week, I've been so lazy lately with doing the speed challenges! All the best Guys and Gals!

RBL - Yeah, I meant the same WIPs you meant :D :p That is more complex scene, so we can make the timeframe a bit larger. You can post WIPs.

The maximum time - I think more than enough for a sketch, colouring and touching up - six hours.

ROB - itallic - like those itallic or italian mirrors, that are in the interrogation rooms - you see your reflection, but it's transparent from the other side. :p You don't need to visualise this or put onto your paintings - it's just an info, how the spectators are capable of watching the Show.

You don't need to make the sphere transparent from the inside, guys. It was just an idea. If it complicates things for you - drop it! :p Althought CHK did it pretty well :)

Here is the space speed ball game, the rats are playing for their lives for the loser team will be fed to cosmic cats. They are fighting for their freedom and the freedom of the rat world, the freedom of earth, in earth's day. One of the rats as already bitten his opponent to death (the body is laying down on the bottom of the sphere, with the full of blood space surf board)...~

I tried to capture a feeling of uncertainty and lack of balance of the nature and man like the rats balancing on their boards and the crimes of humanity against the big sphere wich is mother earth...

retard - I like the suit design. I would add more of the background to it, show some guys fighting. Looking good :)

Come on, guys - forget about this itallic things, just paint the action! For example - two guys are flying on the skateboards, pushing themselves side to side, the third one behind them is throwing the ball, up and below them are other players.... think of the freedom that the topic gives - like the quidditch match - dynamic angle, players flying with their heads down, speed... See it? COME ON! :D In the background some panels that are lining up along sphere curves, or totally blurred, that depends what you want to show.

3-drakala (I can't fully appreciate your stlye of humor... but realizing my own bias, I was able to look past that. You had some technical difficulties in acheiving some of your effects but overall it's pretty good.)

Xtreme, sorry to have to give you last place out of 4. ha ha ha. That sounds so bad. It had a lot of potential. You always do so well in these challenges anyways so you'll bounce back.

ROB, you said yours was just for reference, right?

Michael-3DT, Your description wasn't too wild. It's a really busy 3 weeks for me with Architecture finals coming up. I'm taking a break right now from my 5th all-nighter in the last week and a half with many more to come just to write this. [That and I'm so bad at drawing people - I will try and do people for one of these, no matter how horrible it turns out, one of these times]

If I avoid joining to wait for a theme that is easier for me, it'll also be easier for everyone else; there'll be more entries and there will be better entries, making it just as hard to compete as entering a competition that would be challenging for me. These are called speed painting challenges, not speed painting competitions. We may name a winner and grant a prize but the true value is found in challenging yourself and gaining valuable experience. So get out there and do your best, everyone!

the best of all is wacom, the mouse is not great but the pen with eraser
is really amazing, the pressure-sensitive is very good, you will enjoy using a wacom! My wacom is only a A6, but it's enough to draw and to paint!
