hello
everytime i created my spline and use garment maker on it, it smooths the mesh in a very strange way. i don't know how i can get rid of this
here is a pic of the problem picture (http://www.lolope.de/arktwend/garment.jpg)
thanks for any help :shy:

That weird smoothing is actually what it's intended to do. When you do a clothfx simulation, if you use a regular mesh with neat quads, the cloth will have strange deformations in some places. The weird messyness of garment maker is actually ideal for cloth deformations. It's much less likely to mess up in a cloth sim, if the geometry is setup like that.
In other words, it's not an error, it's a feature. ;)
I highly recommend watching this video:
It's a 23meg wmv file, but it streamed fine for me.. of course I'm at work and we have a dedicated T3 here.... so, you may want to just download it. hehe...
It's one of discreet's info-tutorial thingys for using clothFX and garment maker.

thanks for response
but i mean the fact that the sizes of the tris arent regular
in some situation for the arms as example it makes a whole edge from one side of the spline object to the other side
and when i make a higher density it don't change it anyway :hmm:

Hi,
you're probably using a cracked version of clothfx, just remove the garmentmaker, save you're file, restart max, re-aply garmentmaker, and you'll see the regular tesselation. You should buy clothfx or be a 3ds max subscription member to have the max 7.5 update.
