Unwrapping a gun advise?

Hey guys n gals

I've started unwrapping a XM8 assault rifel its going ok but i'm still not sure if i'm doing it quite right or just doing it the longway!

Anyone know of any good tutorials other than unwrapping at head because that does not really help

you should try using the option 'normal mapping' feature when unwrapping. It has some nice mapping modes. But be carefull as unwrapping can take a lot of time! You could try and use normal materials and just unwrap the part where you would like to add extra details.
