Ok Im not working on a current project but im stumped as to how to skin a model that is high poly. I know how to use UVW unwrap in max to skin a lower poly model but Is it really that tedious to skin a very high poly model the same way? Is there another way or is texturing the "FUN" part :D

Paint different areas of the model different colors, it makes skinning high-poly stuff a lot easier.

im using texporter plugin on high poly characters, it works quite well if you asign the right uvw mapping to your model, most times the cylinder gizmo bit rotated works without having overlapping areas - this is for heads only, didnt try it with something else yet
