hello, i've had this project for a while now (see WIP in signature) and now, I started texturing the hair yesterday. I didn't want to use any fancy hair plugins, and I just wanted a basic mesh to apply a texture on. Now I'm stumped. I tried UVW mapping and I simply got lost in the complexity of the mesh where I have to ge the hair strands to follow the exact right line to make it work. I spent hours only to have HUGE seams running along the hair. Could someone help me on this or, just propose me a better way of doing it?

well, I think things fixed themselves... it took about 4 hours but I figured out how to fix the UVW... now, how do I delete this thread?...

oops! sorry people! I just worked and tried to figure out on paper how it should be shaped. I didn't use any ''tricks''... I just sat down, thought for a while and figured it out by myself. the trick with UVW is not to start moving verticles randomly and hope to get results, you have to think before you move every verticle...
[Edit] OOH! by the way, I might have caused some confusion here but I was talking about UVW unwrap not UVW mapping.... I always mix the 2 up....

what exactly are you trying to do using UVW unwrap?
