My name is Sophia and I am the Future Development Director at Golden Era Productions. Golden Era Productions is the film production company for the Church of Scientology. We are a non-profit organization and are responsible for the production of all the films, PSAs and educational materials used in the Church's drug rehabilitation and drug education campaigns, literacy programs, the human rights campaign and other similar activities.
We are starting development on a project to produce a film based entirely on one of the books written by L. Ron Hubbard. It is a non-fiction book by the title "Fundamentals of Thought" and lays out the fundamentals of and underlying basic principles of life and livingness. Much of it is described in terms of basic concepts.
The film will utilize live action as well as a great deal of computer graphics/visual effects to illustrate these concepts to the viewer. It is thematic rather than plot driven. The narration is already written as it is the text of the book and what it now needs is the visualization.
We are looking for a CG designer/visual effects art director who is innovative and has experience in working with CG concept art and visual effects designs to work on such a project for 3-4 weeks. Needed is someone who is capable of coming up with a visual treatment that is cutting edge and with concepts to communicate the material in the book with a look or style of graphics or visual effects which are fresh and hip. We need someone who can offer significant creative contribution to the project working in partnership with the Director and scriptwriter.
Not needed is Disney or Anime or anything vaguely similar. The Director absolutely wants this film to look like nothing any one has ever seen.
The Director is going to review your resume, samples or portfolio and any personal message you may want to tag on. So when you apply, please think with the expressed needs and wants.
If we decide to take you on for the project, you will be paid on completion of project - not weekly or daily. The compensation will be modest, however an up front downpayment may be negotiable. As a non-profit organization the majority of our donations go towards funding of humanitarian projects and we are fiercely proud of these projects and everything they do to help people everywhere. :)
