Hi there,
my name is Calvin Golkowski. I have been watching this board for a while now, and i love the work here. I just started modelling an old man and i would really appreciate if someone can help me with it. I am just about to take it into ZBrush, but i would like some feedback first.

wow ... what to say ..uhm ..it's perfect! :D
really ..I like the modeling a lot ..
did you use references? which 3d soft did you use for it?
I can't wait to see the details that you'll add with zbrush ..keep it up!
ah ..are you thinkin' about to model the rest of the body?
I don't remember to have seen an old body ..that would be interesting

Great muscle work. You have really re-created the old look perfectly.Nothing much to say.Other than to say that the ear needs more work.but it can be easily ajusted using zbrush..Keep it up.

Hi,
thank you all for your encouragement. As this is my first post here, i am really happy to hear that you like the modell.
@niki-3DT: Yes, i have used reference. An old guy from 3D.sk, but i changed him alot so it doesnt really look like the original anymore :7. I modelled the man in Maya 6.5.
I was actually thinking about modelling the whole body at some point, just because of the reason you said. You dont see it much, but i have to train myself in cloth next, and i am working on another model, which is fully nude (yes, it is a girl :7), so i think i will keep him as he is after ZBrush and then eventually adding clothes.
@Novak: Thank you for the encouraging words, i can use them. I need to build up confidence :).
@GhosTS: Thank you too for encourgament and yes, i will check out the ear again. I rotated it forward in a later version i havnt uploaded, but you will see this in the ZBrush Version.
Btw, i really like the entence: Whoever does not try, does not learn. I will use that to encourge myself.
Thanks!
calvin

Hi again,
i am working on the ZBrush version now. But i have a wireframe of the model. It is quite highpoly but i will do a lowpoly model at some point too.

everything but the upper lips looks good. the wrinkling there looks unreal, maybe smooth that part out a bit or check some more references.

I dont really like his skin...the zbrushing is good and all but try a new texture...old men's skin is usually blotchy and speckled etc...but other than that i think it looks really supremely good
