Typing 3D characters (words) (3DSM)

I want to create a word in 3D characters in 3DSM
But are there built-in characters or do I have to model them myself?

Use the text tool under Splines, then use the extrude modifier for depth

just type it, then extrude it, or if you want more soft edges you can bevel it.
