Hi all,

been a long, long time since I posted on here, so I thought I would share some of my latest work. I modelled a Russian WW2 truck for someone's mod about a year ago and they recently asked for another, higher poly count model, which inspired me to do the following.... Not sure if I will be texturing these or if they will end up being used, but some constructive comments would be appreciated as always :) The allowance was quoted as "around 3000 triangles" so I stuck with that for these additional models, though that makes wheels on a tank a little painful.

Enjoy!

Guess everyone has overdosed on WW2 stuff recently then?

Yeah... I wonder why. No new WWII movies...

Those look good though, nicely done :D

Thanks Jedi :) It's like buses in this place... No threads about WW2 for ages and then three come at once ;)

Had the chance to play a little tonight:

First thing I noticed was the mapping on the tracks was very, very bad, so I played and improved it so that the detail level is comparable to the rest of the model. There's still some stretching on the longer parts, so I have to fix that, but that's easy enough to do.

The second thing was that the wheels were to far recessed into the tracks, so I've adjusted the position to something better. The front wheel might need a size increase too, but we'll see how it goes.

Current textures are very much WIP, but I'm not happy with the hatch at the rear of the main part of the turret at the moment, though it's better than the plastic monstrocity that was there ten minutes ago!

Thinking about lowering some of the dirt levels on the turret too, but it might stay if it fits when the rest of the texture is on it.
