Hellp ppl.

Tnx for the appreciation for my model and sorry for not mentioning right now, but I promise I'll do that before the deadline. Right now I'm at my girlfriend's house and Im not online too much, but I manage to make this model today.

I stay so long to model it because I try to model it after a real life juicer so It took a while to make all the curves in the spline for the lathe. And other tweeking,
I put a wire for the cup, before the boolean extrusion for the 3 holes, because after the boolean the wire was so dense that U will not understand anything. And I put the spline before the lathe to see how the cup was made.

hope U enjoy it

depistado, nice to see the reference with it. If you put the reference next to your model, alot of people cannot say wich one is the real one (in my oppinion), if you don't count the background that is. Well done

Hello everyone!

I've been browsing the forums for a few months and finally decided it was time to subscribe and submit my work. Hope you like it!
Modelling isn't my strongest point in 3D but I'm trying to improve. :wall:

The concept of the juicer is from a experimentalist design group from my home country (Portugal). The group is called Dasein and you can find some info in this link: http://www.experimentadesign.pt/designwise/eng/colec/juicyboobs.htm

Quoting the creators:
"Juicy Boobs is an object of desire. Any person should have one.
In one piece it holds two squeezers and a tray where the juice gathers.
In addition to its sensual contours, the press is manifestly effective in the art of juice extraction.
Simply tilt and the juice pours easily into the glass."

Peace!

cyber_zero: I think the tilting/pouring would have to be done very carefully, but the entire thing got a smirk out of me.

Here's entry #3, an electric juicer this time. I modeled everything in the sceen in the allotted amount of time. I think it's pretty clear how the juicer works, but if anyone needs me to explain please let me know.

p.s. WONDERFUL entries everyone, and thanks so much for all the comments.

Hi all.
Thanks for all the coments so far, glad to keep ya-all smiling. :)

A couple of coments real quick...

Lord_seth (first entry) A great concept and a really well thought out model.
Makonde (second model) Its not only a nice model, but I like the little lemon too.
SeSim Its a great entry for your first, keep it up.
Lord_seth (second entry) I just really like it. What kind of texture is that?
hammering3D Again, another really nice model as always from you. Very practicle

Here is my third this week...
Going with my theme of utter destruction of fruit (sorry Mr.Lemoon), this is the most to-the-point of my models. Again, if it isn't understood, you insert fruit and lit stick of dynamite into metal box, close door and wait for the boom. Then you simply turn the handle on the nozzel and out comes juice. I'm sure theres a study somewhere that says the skin is good for you...

Russ

Modeling: 40 min (give or take)
Textures/setup: 15 min
Render: 5 minutes (I overkilled on AA)
Software: Lightwave3D 8.3

I really like your ideas, man. Creative in a Loony-Toons style.

There is potential for those ideas, bud. Modelling, of course, is a thing of practice (hell, we all see how bad I suck) but the only thing I can point out on this last one is to just lower the reflections on those materials. Way too reflective, and so, too "fake" looking. Try a bit of play when it comes to your shader choice for these simple models - and lower the light intensity a bit (maybe a bit less of a harsh blast of light) and you should have some slick looking stuff.

Then again, that's coming from another newb modeller. My advice could be way off - and I hope someone corrects me if so. :)

well my original image was 600x600 but the file size came up to be 182kb!! and i was not able to upload it so i had to make all attempts posible to bring it up to 100kb :ugh: so the only way was to make it small.

AGMJ: If you have photoshop you can use the save for web >> optimize to file size feature.
It works better than trying to optimize it manually.

uhmm..u r kidding me or

i think u need more experience in photoshop.when saving the composited file in photoshop a window comes and asks the quality of saved work as jpeg or kinda.to reach down the 100 kb u don't need to lower resolution. u will lower the quality from 12 to 6 or which level is enough for 100 kb.
here is a sample to do.

OmegaN
28-09-2005, 01:09 AM
SubCroC: or even better you press "save for web" and write in 100kb (or change quality procent manually) =)

Vhector
28-09-2005, 01:19 AM
this is also good way

-sve to web
- at the right you can play with quality
-and at the left below corner you can check to amount of kb

Hello everyone. I really should get up to speed with these challenges. I do the model the day after the challenge has been issued, it then takes me most of the week on and off to to texture, render, photoshop and post the thing. I really should just start doing the thing in one go. Anyway, here's my entry:

and so...that has come out with a really strange shape...freestyle modelling...bah :) i'll post it anyway :D done in max within the time limit

hammering3d clean and pretty good as always
thykka maybe you're asking that for the grainy look of the render...no,i d0n't use maxwell (in the future that render will do fantastic thing...but for now it's a bit too slow for me) it's a compositing (made with photoshop) by an occlusion map and a normal render (whatever rendering system you're using)..
cheers, grat work from everyone, that week especially from newbyes. Keep up the great work

Wow Adamos that juicer is really neat! I love the flower and the leaf details those made it really something! and I like the lightning, I wanna do that kind of shimmery or whatever its called in english that you accomplished!
(if you didnt get what I meant by the lightning in other words the white kind of glow ontop of the object)

Ever try to get your kid to get a glass of juice and find them in the soda?
Tired of drinking concentrate because it just seems more conveinent?
Get the FruitBat!
The lovely old world semi-gothic flare adds that certain something to any kitchen. Just place the fruit in its paws, and push the eyes deep into its head. Your kids will squeal with glea as the eyes move back to position and the juice starts flowing. The dried fruit also makes great potpourri.

(Please be aware the the needles are capable of piercing most skins and also never let your child use the FruitBat while un-supervised.)

Yes I understand it's not very practical. Sometimes designers like to test the limits of usability. If you push too far it's not design, it's art.

I held one of these... hmmm... Juicy Boobs... hmmm... in my hands in the store and it was quite heavy. :o
I guess the name will get people smirking if they use it in a conversation. :haha:

Wonderful models this week from everyone. And quite a few 'interesting' ones ;)

I don't think I'll be submitting an entry this week - simply didn't have the time. I do have a modelling question, though. When you're working on an object and are in, for example, the vertex selection for said object, what's the name of the function that deselects that entire object and allows you to click on another one?

there ain't new space sim games.the game makers r making thousands of fps games for kidsa, so intermittantly i install and play freelancer, medieval total war and sacred games.but i spend most of my free time on 3dmax,it is 1000k multiple better fun than playin game.

I'm cutting it much too close again this week, 'doh. I had tried a few times earlier in the week but kept running into problems. Mainly with the use of boolean operations. So finally today I decided not to use any boolean operations and do a simpler model than I had planned. I didn't get a chance to make the render as good as I'd like but at least I got textures this week. :smug:

It's easy to see how this one works. Just put the lime in the coconut and drink'em both up. :lame:

Everything in the scene was modeled in the specified time.

Lord_seth: yeah that would be fun with a challenge like that. And everyone should need to share their materials if they want to enter =) And if you cant make it with prizes, the fight for the "honor" and nice material sharing is good enough reason ,atleast for me, to drop an entry in =)

I've been wondering that it would also be nice if people shared their models (only if they wanted to)...
Just a thought.

I'm running late again this week but I still wanted to get some comments out. I feel like the rabbit from Alice in wonderland lately. Many fine, fine entries here again. Just a few of the many that caught my eye this week:

artecnl - Very clean models this week. I think I like the second render best. Nice work!

hammering3D - Got some mighty fine entries again this week hammering. Great modeling and excellent renders! Congrats on the front page this week too.

Antievo - Great job! Both model and render look very nice.

JuST - Looks like a fairly simple model but it's very clean and the render looks very cool. Excellent work!

mimi01 - Great models and excellent renders. Looks like you've got the plastic niche cornered.

Granimo - I really like that classic look to your render. Everything looks very clean. Great work!

OmagaN - Both model and render look very nice. Nice job!

RandallMR - Welcome to the forums. Your entry looks very nice! I look forward to seeing more of your work in future challenges.

adamos - Your third entry is just plain sweet! Excellent work!

And the many others I didn't mention, Great job this week! Now on to the next, woohoo!
