Well, I'm in the making of a game now, and need textures. I don't ask you guys to make me one, of course. Just tell me how to make a realistic type of grass, sand, water, rockpattern, etc. and then import the textures into a map in 3DSmax. I'll be grateful.

Thanks in advance

Well, now, keep in mind that HalfLife2 was pushing realism but it was a very large game. Using HDRI lighting, and carefully planned and executed textures. Don't get me wrong, but unless you're backed by a production as large as valve, I'm skeptical you'll get the kind of realism you want.

You're asking to create a wide variety of gaming effects. I suggest you look at games you already own and take a look at the techniques they use. Take grass for instance. You can have:
1. A splotchy green map with no 3d qualities.
2. A bump mapped version of technique 1.
3. Technique 2 with alpha mapped planes here and there to simulate 3d grass.
4. Full blown 3d grass (see Asheron's Call 2).

Know what I mean?

What specifically do you need? If you're asking about general techniques, you can use a tutorial to learn what you need to do.

Good luck,

Well, Realistic is my way of saying "looks good"

So I want a texture that is looking good:P

I'm making an RPG (not MMO). Which means I should need similar textures to MMORPG's, but it doesn't need to look as good (seeing that MMO-developers, ex. Blizzard, is proffesionals)

Though version 4 looks nice, but that will be hard. I have thought of making a 2D-ish ground with 3D-ish flowers, rocks, etc.
