nice work al3x.
As said above an impressive entry count.
I think you have to make your gitar, a non entry. The gitar week was in 2004 not 2005.
You´v done a excellent job on your models, but you have some unused time on some of them. They could have looked even better.. :)
Keep up the good work.

subject - Mug
Okay now, as easy as this subject is to understand I would like to make a few points VERY clear.
I am reffering to the heavy; usually cylinderical; cup with a handle. You can go crazy on the desighns ofcourse but you have to stick to the general intentions of a mug.
For those into photography; I do NOT mean the face or face shot of a human. Nor a smile.
For those from the UK; I do NOT mean prey/victom.
For those living in NewYork; we are expecting a noun, not a verb :)
After sitting back and watching the challenges over the past year, I finally decided to try myself at the MUG. This is my adaptation of that stained mental image I have of a cheap mug, the kind I use to drink juice. It actually turned out better than what I could of hoped for  It was a long day of coughing, recovering from my recent adaptation of the flu :(. I wish everyone in the forums a happy new year and I hope that I may participate again in 2006.
Rendering software and info is found on the image (for convenience).
thank man :D;sinc i've entered in the speed modelling challenge just from last week with the plush subject ,i have in mind to go thrwo all the weeks so i got some more ...

Not too many limitations are applicable as long as it contain a liquid. But I would strongly recommend you to show care to fit the title rather than posting any bottle.

Altough, the render could have been better, the cuastics didn't work out the way i wanted. Maybe I'll fix that later this week. But oh well... its a modelling challenge, not a render challenge ;)

Concept Details for the week 30 - traditional telephone
modelling time - 60 minutes
subject - traditional telephone
You may model any type of telephone EXCEPT a mobile or modern cordless phone.
You may use your own ideas/concepts or work from reference material but it must be a traditional telphone.
Andy
Hi ppl, Firstly Happy New Year to you all.
Here is my 3rd entry. This is an old europian intercom desk telephone. I could not model the wires and the numbers on the dialer within time, but i think it can be textured. The small piece next to phone is also part of it, actually wires are connected from it to the back side of the phone (see ref image). wire sockets can be seen in the model.
This time posted it as clay instead of textured one. It surely looks more detailed and attractive if its textured...hmm well i will do it this week. All suggestions for it and also for the modeling are welcome.
Reference image used to model this can be found here. (http://www.geocities.com/gan3d/ph_ref.jpg)

I held this rifle last summer and I just thought about yesterday that I would be able to model it (ammunition not included). I made it using 3D studio MAX 7, modeling for 59 minutes thank god for the alamr clock otherwise there are stuff that could be added or modified. I set the scene and render up and got the textures I wanted in 4 hours.
Im really happy with this model and its probably one of the better ones I have done here on the speed modelling challenges.

Concept Details for the week 59 - BathTub
Subject - Bath Tub
Nothing too much to have to clarify I would presume. You have to make a water container that was intended for bathing.
Entries such as Bird Baths are acceptable but not ideally searched for.
once again, either traditional or concept design it's up to you
Ok here is my 4th entry 'Bath Tub'. Tub, legs, water out pipe is done basically by revolveing the cv curve and ofcourse tweaking the shape. tap, shower set is poly model. rest is all simple loft, extruded surfaces. Oops forgot to keep the towel, soap, shampoo  heheh just kidding.....

Week 46 - hand tool
time limit - 60 minutes
deadline - 22.00 G.M.T. Wednesday 18th May 2005
subject - hand tool
this can be anything from a screwdiver to something a lot more complex. The only stipulation is that it must not be a power tool.
An hour gives the experienced modellers plenty of time to produce something special whilst allowing ample time for the less experienced to create a nice entry

This weeks challenge 67
Time limit - 60 minutes
Deadline - 22.00 G.M.T. Wednesday 12th of Oktober 2005
Subject - Shaver
This time we are going to allow a bit more to the concepts literal meaning.
You ARE expected to be able to visually remove hair (Facial OR body) from the individual or victom.. the fun bit is that we are not limiting it to depilation. You can epilate and depilate the hair off the body.
For those that don't know the diffrence: creams or razors physically cut the hair close to the surface (depilation) as when a SilkEpil pull's out the hair from the body (Epilation).
Tried to finish as much as I could...but in the end couldn't add a few details :wall:

Not too many limitations are applicable as long as it contain a liquid. But I would strongly recommend you to show care to fit the title rather than posting any bottle. For perfume bottle planned for much more complicated design actually iI did around 8 sketches but had to do a simple one to finish it within an hour.
Bottle is Nurbs revolve surface, rest is all polygon. For the cap initially started with revolve surface then converted to poly then edited the shape to give the glass cut shape. I have attached the word "Paris" behind the bottle which is not seen in the rendering, I guess there are some corrections to be done for the glass material. I did not work on caustics. Did a simple maya software rendering with Raytracer enable.
Waiting for all your c&c......

This is my first entry in speed modelling. When I was at my parents over christmas I saw my old 'My pet monster' toy and thought it would have been perfect for the week 77 challenge. So I've done it for this one instead.
Week 77: Plush toy
Time Limit- 60 min
Concept;
Even though a 'plush toy' is an intended word for furry or fuzzy soft toys, the modern induistry has introduced a variaty of none furry toys to the market and has accepted them also as a plush toy to describe that the toy is soft and intended to have no sharp artifacts.
Such models shall be accepted also. So all the Plush Gollums, Aladine's, Cabage-Patch Dolls are acceptable.
Just do make sure that the model fits the brief and is simply put: Cuddly.

Week 71 & 72 - Mini-me
You have two hours to create a charicature/cartoon of yourself, hence the title "mini me"
Little Adition;
The subject stays as it is... but we have decided to broaden the scope a little as most of you already know.
As you are able to do a mini version of yourself. You are also able to model out one of the members from the forum. This brings two aditional rules to the game though:
1_The person you model out HAS to be a member in the Threedy forums.
2_If the model you make of another person is too offencive, she/he holds the rights to ask us to remove the image. No questions asked (But this will not disqualify you). So please be respectful to not have your hard work go to waste.
Have fun and let's see some great entries

Oh well, I still act and feel like I'm 18 :smug:
I keep wondering why people say things like that as though it's a good thing. I liked being 18, but I am glad I am not anymore. If my life now was still as controlled by hormones and lack of self confidence as it was when I was 18 I'd worry to be honest.
But then again, if you refer to an age where you could still see the fun in things and were not yet cynical towards the world etc. than by all means: act and feel like you're 18!

Okay everyone!...
It has been a very intresting two weeks with some very well accomplished entries.
I guess practice DOES make better :)
I would like to make a warning on a matter again because a few contestants seem to miss out on it... Please do NOT change anything about your posts AFTER the deadline. If there is an "Edit" date after the deadline the post gets disqualified.
If you have a good reason contact one of us before you do any change.
Well that's that I guess...
Will be starting the new week as soon as it's approved.
Good Luck!

Lol thank you for the time you spent on trying to model me out.
Unfortunately I can't comment too much on the entry since it IS a challange. But I have to say that it is a good depiction to limited time.
How did you go about handling the hands?
(Like most; I had to leave mine as stumps/primitive)

Black-3DT it was actually reallly fun , i tried modeling the head my way but that got messed up so i practiced your way over and over then i finally got the hang of it.
the hands as ususal started with a polycube, but i have had so many trials and errors that i have gotten much better.
arms were made with nurbs cylinders then to poly but the ears gave me a little trouble; had to tweak alot to make them look good.
BTW using NURBS cylinders to get the general shape of the fingers on the hands is a really goodd start instead of just extruding and tweaking polys

alidanesh: yes, really 25 minutes, that easy model, all reliefs and some like it was done by boole function (and of course by extruding, bevell and extrude inner)... otherwise your posts is good too...

This was an interesting week to judge. It brought back many memories of challenges long forgotten. You guys did a pretty good job for this challenge... even if you did drive Black-3DT to the end of his wits! :)
