View Full Version : g-Turbo [car, own design]
28-12-2005, 07:50 PM
Hello once again..
Heres something what I have been doing few days. Yes, its a car, even it doesnt look like ;) This is my second car, first didnt ever complete. Its not actually own design, just the "best" parts of other cars what I have seen somewhere. At the sketch you can see what kind it will come, if I will continue till end.
Please comments, critiques and thougths what I could do to this

hey goljat! it looks clean, i wanna see the end of it..! ,
But i am not sure, about the front grille.. looks weird..
the first word that comes to mind when i see that grill is 'whale' everything else looks pretty good though!
29-12-2005, 05:06 PM
Whale! That was funny :D Yeh I have been thinking to change that. Now I only have to find some nice grill. Thanks for comments.

Looks pretty good Goljat.
Did you made a sketch of the car ? or is it just out of your head ?
Anyway i like the design.
Allso could you maybe post a wire of the rim ?
Keep it up !

great stuff, this one lloks very promising :) keep it up.
btw, what real life cars is it inspired in(if any)?
30-12-2005, 01:56 AM
Sky_Eagle, I didnt understand your question :o I made the sketch but its from my head(?). THe wire you can see below.
There is some Audi, Lexus and NFS MW bodykit ;) Thats what it try to be.

Another "whale" grill :haha: With a nose :smug:
Please like it, I run out of ideas..You can freely(?) give some ideas if thats not so sexy..
Someone could tell how to do nice carbon fiber with vray.. For the bumber
[e] Added the carbon but if someone knows how to do nicer, please tell :dunno:

Please help me.. I cant find or imagine any nice front grill  Give some suggestions. At the attachment you can see its still a whale :D

1 word "Sketch"

I think the grille arcs up to high. Try to make the top a horizontal line. Also, I'm not too fond of how far the front air dam sticks out at the "points."
As a side note, I found out a while ago (I still have some dead concepts floating around) that picking and choosing the best parts of different cars and molding them together rarely works. You have to start with one basic shape that the details have to flow with. Also, don't worry about materials just yet. That headache should come after the model is done or at least close to.
Just my 2 cents

Exam weak is over finaly, back to model. Now I have been doing the basic shape. Now its just a "consept car", not "the best parts" car..
If some one know how to get material and render settings windows to main monitor, please tell :o Because they are now out of the monitor and I cant mix them, have to use that red on everything. My second monitor where they used to be is now at repair..
C&C wellcome :)

Make sure to weld these points when you attach the parts together so that it won't curve up like that. Looks good so far though.
Edit: Forgot the pic lol.

Here is a litle update. Cutted the door and made some shape to side skirt. Also made side mirror.
08-02-2006, 08:14 PM
it's preety nice.. i like it :) a bit dark maybe.. and.. the door look.. well.. odd :D... Good model though
Impressive that you got this from the origional sketch. After seeing the sketch I didn't have much hope for the model, but thankfully your modeling skills are much better than your drawing skills he he.
Crit... The nose is very long and I'm a little confused as to wether it's a front engened or mid mounted car. Have you thought about this?
Keep it up though, it's gonna look great!
10-02-2006, 06:57 PM
Yes I have notice that its very long but im not gonna change it anymore ;) To much pain..
I did some test hoods and would like what you like the best. The original is too complex(?) or something.. Now I think simple would be good but what do you think?
Thanks for the C&C..
11-02-2006, 12:35 AM
Looks nice, but would look better if you used a flat clay texture. Shiny materials on unfinished cars don't look good.
It looks like this:
11-02-2006, 02:47 PM
Ok, now on I will use clay materials until the model is ready.. Yeah, its surely looks a bit of thatcar, even I dont havnt seen that ever :)
01-08-2006, 07:24 PM
Long time no see.. I decided to remodel because it was ugly imo. Now Im pretty satisfied but the back is a bit hard to make.. I think there is 10 car melted together, can you see them ;)
01-08-2006, 09:23 PM
great modeling so far don't give up you're almost done!
and the car looks great keep it up
02-08-2006, 12:31 AM
Could someone say how I should cut this corner so there wouldnt be taht litle bumb. I cant get it off even how hard I try. :grr:
02-08-2006, 08:45 AM
well from the left pic it looks like u should fix it like this:
02-08-2006, 08:02 PM
nice job man!!
02-08-2006, 10:35 PM
Unfortunately that wont help me Protocol. Because that upper yellow line goes behind, if you look at the right wireframe you will notice that. And the yellow what is top of the topmost red line isnt edge..
Thanks Tuss4
Update.. more clear mesh, got the headlight corner fixed but now the lower lamp thingy has a bumb what doesnt leave me alone..
03-08-2006, 07:25 PM
I need some C&C to proceed. What kind of rear lights, what to improve, what
parts sucks, how to make cooler..
Now the shape is quite complete. Now I have to cut some shapes and tweak
a bit but I need you to point me what to fix..
Thanks to ChesterLM I manage to make imo cool glass for my lowest light.
This forums bigest minus is that there is lots of users who just watch quickly
threds and move on. This thred is viewed over 1 200 times and got 25
comments, 13 is my own :xx: Thats makes 12/1200, wohoo, every 100th is
gonna post a comment
03-08-2006, 07:42 PM
an idea for the back (see pic)
hard edge that runs long the roof line , and down to the back with the rear window like the old f355 (sorry for game pic but it shows what i mean :P)
04-08-2006, 05:40 AM
Hey thanks Aleg8r! Im gonna try that.
I made my headlights, what do you think of them? Im pretty proud of the
models but render sucks a bit..
04-08-2006, 05:59 PM
Headlights are mounted to car.. :blah:
04-08-2006, 07:25 PM
looks good , maybe have a hard line on the from bumper from left to right to brake it up abit , seems a little to smooth maybe. and theres a pinch by the ouside air intake top outside corner. maybe a bigger pic next time :D can see more then :D
04-08-2006, 07:47 PM
keep the good work on, good modeling
06-08-2006, 07:15 PM
heres the idea for the front :D
21-09-2006, 11:25 PM
I havnt done much, mostly cutting and detailing. This could be ready very soon if I just could do as much I wanted. Hope you like.
Its almost ready, I have just to
- model wind shield
- model tile lights
- cut the trunk
- cut/model back window
- and something more..
16-12-2006, 03:13 PM
Heres some test render.. I dont know why the windshield is green.
Im still working on the taillights, they are hard one.
Please C&C! :shy:
