i have a problem with flip normal thingy... when i check flip normal i lose the material on the floor but when unchecked it's there. what should i do to have it correctly? i've attached the pics. [3ds max7]

May be the wall and the floor are parts of the same mesh. Just select the floo polys and detach them.

the walls are extruded from the plain how can i detach them?

you want to go into polygon mode...select the poly`s[faces] that you want to detach and hit the detach button,it will suggest a name for these new faces and click ok:)

hmm. i detatched them but still when i check the flip normal the material on the floor disappears..

Is '2-sided' enabled in the material settings?

aaahh.....=) now it works! i attached all of them and now it works :D
