Dodge Viper GTS

Hi everyone, i think i ill post some pics of my WIP Viper. It`s my favourite car. The most difficult part was getting the right blueprints. If someone wants to have them, just ask =)


This was the beginning, i just roughed out the basic shape.

After some basic tweaking i added the first front details.

The roof was the most difficult part, because my refs were not 100% perfect and nothing fitted very well. So i made the roof completely new, beginning with the windows.

The following pics are just showing some improvements and experiments with hdri lightning. I tried to find major deformations by checking reflections.

As you can see the back of the car is still rough, i hope i can spend enough time on modeling to present the next updates within this week =)
(the door is driving me crazy..why the hell is everything round-shaped??? ;) )

Looks nice! The last pic looks real good. :) I would have extruded the edges inwards, in the front lights. But hey, thats me! ;)

Ok, here is a little Update for you. I hadnt much time and in the next days there will be a lot of events that will keep me from modelling -.-

I only sharpened the window and the surrounding metal. I think there is a lot to fix. Especially The front and side window looks pretty weird, but i think i can fix it =)

i dont have a lot of time so these arent really wire corrections as much as they are guidelines. when you have an arc, its best to follow the shape of it with a row of polys

these also more room between the windshield and the hood than you give, which is a little bit of your problem. just use your best judgement to see what curves look the most correct.

always check your references, but keep it up youre doing good!

Hi everyone =). Here is a little update. I modelled the back, the overall shape is ok, but it needs some tweaking here and there.

Sorry for not updating this thread but my mainboard was/is defect, so i have to wait until the new one is delivered to me.

But i am thinking about redoing the whole model, because i made a big mistake:

I had forgotten to cut out the door before starting to create the chamfered edges to make them harder and before detailing the side.

ALWAYS MAKE BACKUPS ;)


I think i will start redoing it in about 5-6 Weeks, because in the next month i write my university-entrance diploma.

but i learned a lot from this model =)
