been working on it for a week and half, and stuff, and i did some texturing, i guess im getting into the whole 350z craze lol, ever since i saw that tut from Mr. Siregar! latest update is attached:
Looking verry good! Good job! I liekd the one with green on and the one with grey :). How did you do to make those textures? Sry for asking but i dont know much about texturing and was wondering if you can help with any tuts or hints.
05-04-2006, 11:02 PM
woah im honored man, basically i didnt use unwrap, but what i did was take my side blueprint opened it up on photoshop, and kinda did the decal where i wanted it to be, made the bgcolor the car paint, and used a UVW map i used this tut to get the base feel i just didnt do the alpha map thing-> http://18.104.22.168/team/tutorials/decal/decal.asp
i use brazil btw
Thnx man! Youre going to work more to it right? Cant wait to see the result, i will be following this thread.
06-04-2006, 12:38 AM
you know i will lol!
06-04-2006, 01:48 AM
That looks really good so far.
No crits at this point.
06-04-2006, 11:21 PM
i wanna start on the front before i finnish the back
07-04-2006, 03:26 AM
07-04-2006, 04:56 AM
tried to do a carbon fiber
08-04-2006, 05:11 AM
nice looking model so far, some of the renders are very good, but maybe you should try to finish the mode first and then make all the texturing, i would be easyer.
cheers, keep updating
11-04-2006, 12:18 AM
tru i should prolly do that but im impatient lol, updates:
for the lighting i used a brazil spot light and used a Cool White for the projection thingmajigger
11-04-2006, 12:20 AM
im going to have tofix the tires too grey, its just that on my comp they dont shouw up like that.
11-04-2006, 12:58 AM
Tuss4: I have the same problem with patients, I always start texturing and rendering before the modeling is done. It makes a project take way longer than it should be since most of the renders from before the completion of the modeling are a waste.
Anyways the 350z's door is different that on your model. There is no metal over the glass. In other words when the door is opened there is not a metal frame around the glass.
It's hard to explain here is a picture http://www.lambodoors.biz/images/cars/Nissan/350Z%2003-05/nissan_03-05_-350z-5.jpg
notice the top of the side window.
11-04-2006, 10:48 PM
thanks for telling me man, but damn this sets back a ways lol!
started on the door handles, but dang now i have to rework on th edoor itself
13-04-2006, 11:39 PM
I was trying to apply some tuts i learned through the 3ds max manual, on IK! And it worked! heres some animations, i learned how to rig a car!
Version 1 (http://media.putfile.com/fullspeedahead)
Version 2 (http://media.putfile.com/fullspeedaheadversion2)
both are on putfile
14-04-2006, 12:07 AM
gotta work on the tire rotation though
17-04-2006, 10:35 PM
02-05-2006, 04:34 AM
Could you help me out A LOT and just quickly explain how u rigged that car? i would really like to know about it :D Thanks man
02-05-2006, 05:39 AM
There is a car rigging tutorial on 3dkingdom.org. But it uses some odd media player to play the tut. Basically you just assign movements to certain pieces. Like you assign the wheels to move 30 degrees for every 30cm the chassis moves. I dont really know exactly how to do this, but im sure the tutorial will help.
02-05-2006, 06:17 AM
Hey thanks nph_assasin, will give it a try!! Thanks again!
03-05-2006, 04:20 AM
actually i didnt do that, but i just used ik to rig it
03-05-2006, 04:26 AM
03-05-2006, 04:27 AM
Yeah you already mentioned that you used IK to rig it. And i never said that you used the method that I posted above. How do you rig with IK though, telling us that you just rigged it with IK isn't very helpful...
Edit: nice update, like the materials, looks clean.
03-05-2006, 04:50 AM
thanks, with Ik you just set the body as the parent of all then make the tire the child of the rim, rim of the brake disc, brake disc of caliper set the pivot points, and dummies, then the axes of rotation for the wheel, and yeah its done
12-06-2006, 09:48 PM
update restarted again, but this time, modelling in parts
12-06-2006, 09:57 PM
21-06-2006, 09:51 PM
more wires of my progress, im using wires cuz i havent chamfered some stuff:
22-06-2006, 08:02 AM
Great model man! love the 350, and you've done it quite well ... obviosuly it's not finished but it's excellent so far :)
I was going to crit on the old model ... but the new one doesn't seem to need it :)
Just be careful with the rear tail lights ... looks like it might be getting a bit crowded with polys ... but other than that, can't wait to see the finish! cheers
23-06-2006, 12:41 AM
thanks man, updates did the rearview mirrors on the doors:
26-06-2006, 08:42 PM
CnC plz, i did a lot of work this weekend but still much to do, and im not satisfied with the wing, and do you guys know how to bump map a tire?
26-06-2006, 08:44 PM
im definitly going to change the headlights, and thank God for the shell modifier
27-06-2006, 10:14 PM
27-06-2006, 10:41 PM
Hi there :) didn't saw your recent updates, they look very good, liked the tuning
you did on it. I think the headlights should have two lights in each one. Looks
pretty much done on the outside.
Did you used HDR for the reflections?
28-06-2006, 01:01 AM
yeah the reflections were HDRI
28-06-2006, 09:10 PM
im feeling kinda lazy now, i almost dont want to rework the headlights
05-07-2006, 08:42 PM
06-07-2006, 07:49 PM
06-07-2006, 09:28 PM
I like the white car with the black rims. Black car on black rims will probably look good too.
Nice car so far everything looks great :D:D except for that little pinch on the obtuse angle of the taillight.
06-07-2006, 10:06 PM
you love rendering huh!? I really like your rims and the head lights, some of your wires are gonna definitely help me out with my Lady. Cheers!
07-07-2006, 08:34 PM
lol thank you for the comments, if you can wait a little bit for wires, than ok, because they tend to make my comp crash
10-07-2006, 08:39 PM
the wires and stuff:
10-07-2006, 09:09 PM
great work on the car, i love the ur work on the rim. like the rendering too. my rendering isnt that good. did u use vray or just scanline?
10-07-2006, 10:40 PM
i used brazil but you can do the same with scanline or mentalray
11-07-2006, 09:38 PM
11-07-2006, 11:25 PM
sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many kool renders.
this thread is eye candy.
12-07-2006, 07:35 PM
lol thanks! im still a beginner though
12-02-2007, 04:07 AM
thanks! wow ive taken a long ass hiatus from modelling, but i have decided to remodel this car again, until then i cannot do any other projects!
12-02-2007, 04:08 AM
26-02-2007, 05:10 AM
restarted again this time, i want to work on my edge flow and details.
update wire cnc plz:
27-02-2007, 12:46 AM
well i understand everyone is working on their stuff lol, id rather ppl comment when i have more to show anyway. ill update more later
02-03-2007, 11:22 PM
03-03-2007, 09:41 AM
definitely much better... keep it going man!
10-03-2007, 11:23 PM
thanks man! updates:
11-03-2007, 02:45 AM
I like it so far, although the polys might be a little bit dense for easy adjustments. Remember only have vertices where you actually need them.
12-03-2007, 02:37 AM
thanks, i think im goin to reduce the polygons on the back bumper, and redo the front bumper around the blinkers just to make sure the wheel arch and blinker flow better
13-03-2007, 12:57 AM
as promised, got rid of the clutter in the back:
13-03-2007, 06:42 AM
finished the pillar near the windshield still got to the bumper, than the windshield, than i will start detailing and stuff:
13-03-2007, 07:07 AM
Lookin good so far :D
13-03-2007, 03:34 PM
14-03-2007, 01:54 AM
update reworked the wire on the blinker, photobucket is actin weird so i used my friends site, which i suggest to you all! its called Slap!File (http://slapfile.com):
14-03-2007, 11:57 PM
posted wrong link just fyi ..... real one is http://slapfile.com/
(you spelled it flie :))
15-03-2007, 01:59 AM
lol thanks i fixed tht. hang tight for me updates. meanwhile its peanut butter jelly time, peanut butter jelly time!
15-03-2007, 02:23 AM
speaking of which:
16-03-2007, 01:24 AM
i want to get the whole mesh together before i start detailing, so far now no smoothed versions please be patient with me. Thanks!
16-03-2007, 07:49 AM
finished headlight glass, still needs some tweaking:
16-03-2007, 10:08 PM
i could use some CnC lol
16-03-2007, 10:51 PM
I think you need to post some smoothed pictures... We have seen plenty of wires but it is hard to tell if there is anything wrong... or anything to improve
17-03-2007, 12:20 AM
i just want to make sure everything is modelled and position correctly before i start smoothing
17-03-2007, 10:53 PM
updates, after remodelling this car so many times the front blinker light has always been an issue with bumpiness, im glad to say its been fixed (ignore the marshmellowiness of the rest, they will be fixed when i get to them) and dont worry those arent tris those are quads:
18-03-2007, 12:37 AM
marshmallows are good :)
18-03-2007, 03:53 AM
lol you know what i mean
19-03-2007, 06:12 AM
update still stuff that needs fixin, i just kinda started the windshield wiper space, i wanna get that a lot of stuff in the front done b4 i start the rear:
19-03-2007, 11:07 PM
update fixed a lot of stuff:
23-03-2007, 06:29 AM
not much of an update just did the signal light glass:
25-03-2007, 05:50 AM
i couldnt resist, i just wanted to see what the paint looks like:
25-03-2007, 06:49 AM
Looks pretty cool. I'm just glad that you are showing us a different angle of the car :)
Is that a bump on the slide window? It could just be a reflection but if I were you I would check it out.
25-03-2007, 07:09 AM
hi, your car is coming out very nice, keep going!
25-03-2007, 08:38 AM
Great Job Tuss4. The car is coming along. This car is a favorite I see it modeled alot. Yours looks awesome. Keep at it.
27-03-2007, 11:26 AM
thanks guys, im just trying to stay disciplined with this car! in the meantime ive been working on a nice setup playing with default scanline:
30-03-2007, 06:29 AM
update, fixed some stuff, still havent attacked the rear lights yet, and im hesitating as to wether i should tune this:
31-03-2007, 08:35 PM
attacked the back again:
01-04-2007, 09:26 PM
started a rim:
02-04-2007, 01:57 AM
03-04-2007, 01:37 AM
how the rim looks when smoothed:
does anyone no a tire tread modelling tut?
03-04-2007, 05:05 PM
I suggest the second one. it has a better outcome IMO.
03-04-2007, 06:51 PM
I was going to post that second one, since that is where I got my knowledge on how to make tire treads.
03-04-2007, 08:53 PM
I like this tut better, a lot easier for me. :P
03-04-2007, 10:19 PM
yeah i was checking out that Daniel Buck tut no. 2 i think im going to go with that thanks guys.
04-04-2007, 06:56 AM
tread is on hold for now, started modelling the calipers:
04-04-2007, 07:17 PM
hey man....could u please post this ref pic that u are using for the caliper?
the model is awesome so far!
04-04-2007, 11:17 PM
here you go and thanks, btw get more refs for other views as well, this is a good base, but you really have to like look at refs every now and then to make sure your flow is good:
04-04-2007, 11:59 PM
05-04-2007, 07:45 AM
updates, i couldnt resist the render wire:
06-04-2007, 01:42 AM
this should be smoother ignore that middle cylinder, i still need to modify it more:
06-04-2007, 05:07 AM
update this is like 200k polies now, its really slowing my stuff down lol:
06-04-2007, 08:21 AM
i need sleep this thing is like 88k unsmoothed:
06-04-2007, 08:20 PM
all together now!
ps ignore 2 things the front bumper and that blobl where the rearview mirro was, im redoing both, so many things to do still.
06-04-2007, 11:10 PM
Damn! thats looking really nice!
07-04-2007, 10:50 AM
thanks man! your ferrari is a killer!
not much of a tire but it taught me a lot of different things when i modelled it like:
1) Daniel Buck's tire tread tut no2 is a pain in the ass to work with
2) Onno Van Braam's tut needs more details
i ended up figuring out a lot of stuff, its simple but for now it will do the trick
07-04-2007, 09:58 PM
added a lil more is this better?
07-04-2007, 10:32 PM
nice work my friend...keep up the good work...;)
09-04-2007, 02:05 AM
any ideas for the front lip, im stumped:
09-04-2007, 05:39 AM
a lil sumpin sumpin lol:
09-04-2007, 11:13 AM
yeah, I like that one. :D
09-04-2007, 11:41 PM
thanks dude started on an intercooler:
10-04-2007, 05:18 AM
an attempt at realism, with a Sesim-like recipe, took an hour to render with Brazil:
10-04-2007, 01:36 PM
where's your cooler now? lol
looks nice, but there's something still bugging me about those headlights.. I can't really point out what it is..
10-04-2007, 10:05 PM
the fact that they arent done? lol
11-04-2007, 03:20 AM
this should be a better paint:
11-04-2007, 05:16 AM
started a seat, im modelling all over the place lol, this site is something generic, i didnt have any high resolution pic for one bucket seat in particular, so i had to like come up with this using pictures of existent seats, and my imagination:
11-04-2007, 06:00 AM
i think im going to model some new wheels soon
11-04-2007, 11:04 AM
previous page, last image shows you made a cooler ;)
nice seats by the way. show 'em smoothed...?
11-04-2007, 11:14 AM
i will when they are done lol, the cooler sucks for now need to refine it a lil. imma go to sleep ill post a pic for ya tomorrow
12-04-2007, 02:10 AM
this took 15 mins to render, annoyance lol:
13-04-2007, 07:43 AM
here's an update on the seat sorry for the render wire but it still needs tweaking and is not at the stage where it can be smoothed:
i know, its random, but this stuff keeps me motivated, plus i really want to take this car as far as i can, and model an interior
15-04-2007, 12:42 AM
restarted the CAR SEAT not the car lol, i think my mistake was that i modelled the cushions in separate parst to make seams, what i am doing now is modelling the whole cushions then when its ready ill add all the seams. here is my progress:
15-04-2007, 10:09 PM
18-04-2007, 07:44 AM
update sorta, just started on the headlights:
19-04-2007, 08:38 AM
i dont think im going to update here that much anymore:
19-04-2007, 05:26 PM
Donīt worry about posting, people will come, with time :D
Keep it up and donīt worry, you are going great!
21-04-2007, 06:18 AM
thanks Strattus! started on the logo:
21-04-2007, 07:27 AM
done with the logo everything was modelled
21-04-2007, 08:26 AM
on a roll:
21-04-2007, 02:56 PM
The logo looks great, but totally unnecessary to modell it..only model the base of it and apply a bump map and you got the same effect
21-04-2007, 04:03 PM
bump map is possible, but modeling is more realistic.. ;)
headlights seem kinda empty, somehow..
21-04-2007, 06:18 PM
@Robert: yeah thats just the first light the headlights are not by any means complete
22-04-2007, 02:43 PM
'kay. that's what I thought.. :D
22-04-2007, 10:42 PM
update ill finish up the headlights:
23-04-2007, 03:53 AM
headlight is pretty much done:
25-04-2007, 08:18 AM
working on a new rim:
30-04-2007, 04:26 AM
update: i was playing with brazil's carpaint and found something acceptable, i forgot to turn on the ground plane though lol (please excuse the low resolution):
01-05-2007, 08:57 PM
new rims +an attempt at composition using Kitchen hdri:
02-05-2007, 02:35 AM
new rims and carpaint rocks, but the rim is a bit too thin..dont you think?
keep it up!
03-05-2007, 05:38 AM
please ignore the interior lol:
04-05-2007, 08:56 AM
fixed the side a lil better:
04-05-2007, 08:26 PM
Tuss4 Awesome work mate. Your skills are improving with every update. Keep up the good work!!!
04-05-2007, 10:57 PM
thanks dude! i kinda needed to hear that man. It's hard to stay motivated.
08-05-2007, 12:16 AM
update on the interior and other stuff:
11-05-2007, 07:59 AM
heres an update:
11-05-2007, 10:10 PM
progress on a new tire:
11-05-2007, 10:20 PM
god luck! I have always problems with my tires:)
11-05-2007, 11:39 PM
thanks man, its the bending thats going to be hard, update:
11-05-2007, 11:54 PM
it is done:
12-05-2007, 01:43 AM
yeah, I like that tire.
did you get it from a tutorial?
because I found a tutorial which gives pretty much the same idea of creating that thread. :P
12-05-2007, 04:36 AM
yeah but with those tuts you end up having to weld a bunch of vertices, i did all that from one plane, using math, and than the bend modifier.
12-05-2007, 02:25 PM
I think its easier to model one segment..then copy it..weld..copy the 2 segment..weld.. etc. But maybe its just my opinion
19-05-2007, 05:06 AM
meh i might do that on the next one. In the meantime a clay of progress:
19-05-2007, 06:00 AM
dude...all I have to say....AWESOME...really...I'm loving it so far..u might just change the background/HDRi...if u want..I have a relly big one here..like..3000*1500^^
08-06-2007, 04:17 PM
thanks dude i got some new hdri's that are friggin huge, like at least 50 megs each. update working on some paint and a scene:
10-06-2007, 01:32 AM
11-06-2007, 05:05 PM
This work is outstanding. It motivates me to no end to get started on a vehicle. I loved all the paintwork you showed and it was clear that a lot of work went into the model. Would you be able to show the steps you used to get your tread together?
11-06-2007, 07:20 PM
as in the tire tread?
11-06-2007, 11:35 PM
12-06-2007, 01:29 PM
ok gimme a lil time and ill put something together just for you!
12-06-2007, 03:42 PM
14-06-2007, 05:42 PM
just be a lil more patient, finally got the time to work on it.
14-06-2007, 08:29 PM
here you go: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LNJAZ3GR
14-06-2007, 11:58 PM
Wow, thanks for that. 4m30s to render...dang. You're using max, I'm using maya, but let me see if I have an understanding of it.
Created a tube (body of tire).
Detached a segment of 3 verts.
Used math to layout a flattened poly, half the width of the tire.
Mirrored and used bend edges to check for circumference (?)
Used a chamfer to layout parallel lines to edges.
Selected faces/edges and extruded center raised area.
Selected alternate faces and extruded for pattern.
Wedged outer verts of tread.
Selected verts along vertical line and moved to create zigzag pattern of tread.
*Why was there the tread spread apart a full section?
*Does the tread replace the outer radius of the tube?
Refined main tube shape.
Assigned Clay mat. (got to see if Maya has something similar.)
Attached Tube and tread segments.
Assigned mat to tread.
So it took you 35 minutes to build a tread that would probably take me 3 hours..lol. Anyway if i left something out or didn't understand part of what you were doing let me know. I'm going to use this on my W.I.P. Thanks again for your extra effort.
15-06-2007, 01:40 AM
well i dunno if maya has a symmetry modifier, but if it does, use it, that way you wont have to do as much work. The point of the tut, was to avoid any welding of vertices whatsoever. if you think about it, the tread doesnt have to replace the outerlayer, thats why i detached the polies as a clone.
15-06-2007, 02:59 AM
So then you left the original geometry from the tube in place even though it was hidden by the tread?
15-06-2007, 03:33 AM
yup pretty much.
18-07-2007, 04:25 AM
update on the wheel, it is far from done:
20-07-2007, 04:37 PM
a little more progress:
08-10-2007, 05:25 AM
nize specular work...
22-05-2008, 08:54 PM
23-05-2008, 03:21 PM
Ohh.. My.. God..!
I can't believe you are still working on this?
sweet looking wheel, although I am not sure about the areas where the bolts are, in the rim? but to make up for it: that is a nice tread!
I want it!
23-05-2008, 04:16 PM
yeah i might just remodel the rim after, but i really wanted to test out mental ray:
23-05-2008, 10:58 PM
Hi Tuss4 I start learning mental ray now .put v_ray down.Mental renders faster.I don't no way.
24-05-2008, 12:19 AM
yup mental ray is awesome.
03-06-2008, 07:55 PM
once again mental ray kicks ass:
03-06-2008, 08:52 PM
Wow, that is a sweet piece of progress! :D
fix those bumped lines in the hood though. ;)
that white box is the interior?
I don't have other crits right now. I'd love to see the back!
03-06-2008, 09:41 PM
once again mental ray kicks ass:
yes...yes it does, nice progress
05-08-2008, 06:47 PM
trying to get some closure with this thing, here are some "final" renders:
05-08-2008, 07:55 PM
Wow, Always awesome to see another update!
did you actually model the headlights, or is it a texture?
because it looks like a texture because of the glaass material.
further on, it could use a bit of an environment, I have some huge ass HDR's for you, if you don't have them yourself.
How's the back of this baby doing?
Good luck further, buddy!

everything you see, has been modeled will work on an environment later.
06-08-2008, 02:17 AM
back on the z i see, i dont like the last two renders. the black one was much better.
06-08-2008, 03:18 PM
you'll probably like this one:
06-08-2008, 04:06 PM
Looking good Tuss, this makes me want to go back and start my 350z all over, sadly I lost the files. who knows.....maybe I will.
06-08-2008, 04:26 PM
got rid of the bump on the bumper:
07-08-2008, 12:58 AM
Hi Tuss4. Nice job:dance:I like this one the best.
Heres some skys
07-08-2008, 01:00 AM
sorry forgot to post the one:wall:
very nice 350z man love it gotta see updates :)
07-08-2008, 03:47 PM
lol, I usually work on it when I need a tiny break from Iron Man
08-08-2008, 06:28 AM
ok last one, then back to Iron Man, the reflections look like crap because I used the draft settings for FG, for the sake of speed, also as you can tell the car needs a floor lol. I definitely want to retackle this project once Iron Man is completed:
09-08-2008, 03:51 PM
Your modeeling is looking great! Really good work man!
That render actually looks pretty good!
10-08-2008, 03:20 AM
thanks, guys! what is bothering me is those jagged reflections. BUT now it's back to IronMan
10-08-2008, 09:10 AM
Jagged Reflections: It doesn't look like this is the problem, but do you have SuperSampling on?
10-08-2008, 12:28 PM
well I'm using Mental Ray, with Final Gather, no GI, so I'm not sure if there is a supersampling setting, I'll check.
07-09-2008, 09:28 PM
hey man, i was looking around and saw this wip and i must say that this an awesome model. looks so clean. cool renders. i hope i can get my models to look as good as this sometime :)
18-11-2008, 06:26 AM
i dont know what it is about me and this car, but here you go, started this on friday:
18-11-2008, 06:39 AM
and a quick render:
18-11-2008, 09:36 AM
you are going for a take two, eh?
best of luck on finishing this project dude,
In the quick render, I think the reflections are a bit too much right there, you know?
maybe give it a little blur, and it might look better, but I'm not a 100% on this.
21-11-2008, 04:40 PM
hey hows that mercedes bro?
21-11-2008, 09:05 PM
my mercedes is going alright, I'm in desperate need of some real-life photos..
Also I'm busy with school and work; I made 14 straight hours today. again tomorrow. Yay! :)
I like yer Z man. it's hard to give feedback, I don't see any bumps at all.
maybe just one; in the rear wheel arch, on the top, on the side of the door. it could also be because of the lights, so I'll wait for another render. ;)
keep up the second take man!
21-11-2008, 10:19 PM
no ur right theres a bump there, that ive been trying to fix, its a pain, and its mostly due to not planing correctly
22-11-2008, 08:56 AM
progress and unsmoothed wire:
24-11-2008, 03:26 AM
got the rear bumper practically done:
24-11-2008, 04:54 AM
Wow, I guess we can all see you really evolved your modeling, nice stuff dude.
There is one little thingy: The edge of the rear bumper, where it connects to the trunk lid (?) seems bumpy. I'll draw it out for you in an hour or two.
24-11-2008, 06:21 AM
ya i already see it
24-11-2008, 08:06 AM
Looking nice Tuss, yeah its amazing how fast you can build it up again once you have more knowledge.
24-11-2008, 04:43 PM
thanks bro, some progress, ill finish off the hood as soon as I get home:
24-11-2008, 10:10 PM

11-12-2008, 08:23 AM
thanks bro! working on the wheels, almost done:
11-12-2008, 09:21 AM
It could be a perspective issue, but the boltholes don't seem round?
I like them though, but I'm not sure they are the original 350Z rims?
11-12-2008, 09:24 AM
they are round, and those are enkei RZ5's
11-12-2008, 09:25 AM
Alright, you are forgiven. ;)
11-12-2008, 06:49 PM
lol, just gotta finish the outer rim:
11-12-2008, 07:27 PM
11-12-2008, 10:56 PM
Your modeling has improved quite a lot Tuss, this is looking clean.
11-12-2008, 11:41 PM
Nice work budeeee, crispy modeling.
12-12-2008, 06:28 PM
i gotta say the rim is looking amazing
12-12-2008, 09:48 PM
Thanks, for the support dudes! The tire is going to be a bitch to model, I figure I am going to do the Yokohama Advan Neova tread. If I am crazy enough I will try and model the sidewall.
15-12-2008, 08:18 PM
started on the brakedisc ;P. Everything here modelled by hand, NO BOOLEANS:
15-12-2008, 09:20 PM
Donkintrelli, a repeated circle would be a major milestone for you wouldn't it, congrats.
16-12-2008, 12:24 AM
poyolah...go go poyo
16-12-2008, 04:23 PM
almost done: gonna work on the caliper:
16-12-2008, 07:28 PM
I really like what I'm seeing here. If I count correctly, you restarted this project 3 times. but I'm sure you nailed it spot on this time. Good job!
18-12-2008, 02:53 AM

N check your drill hole on disk..its shud have this
18-12-2008, 03:45 AM

18-12-2008, 04:15 AM
18-12-2008, 05:35 AM

18-12-2008, 05:37 AM

23-12-2008, 12:23 PM
Holes are being cut everywhere! aaaahhH!
Good job Tuss, keeps getting better and better, I love the easy flow you came up with on those rims!

Are you completely ignoring me now? geeeze
30-12-2008, 05:21 PM
Jamal, I had to collapse it man, if not it would be lumpier than a mug.
31-12-2008, 07:07 AM
gonna start attacking the headlights, built the area:
01-01-2009, 06:11 AM
How are you modeling it? Are you using Splines or are you Poly Modeling.
It looks great, I gotta re-try car modeling soon, most of the cars that people make are just spectacular.
01-01-2009, 07:09 AM
Thanks, I use poly modeling
06-01-2009, 01:43 AM
been working on it for a week and half, and stuff, and i did some texturing, i guess im getting into the whole 350z craze lol, ever since i saw that tut from Mr. Siregar! latest update is attached:
How do cut out the body panel areas? Where the gaps are.
06-01-2009, 05:16 PM
is that ryu from street fighter on the front:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance: go ryu
u should make another with ken
06-01-2009, 07:07 PM
wow you guys actually paid attention to the old stuff! for gaps there are several ways to go about it. For the doors, I just modeled the complete side of the car, no seams. Then I used the cut tool to cut out the shape of the door, then I proceeded to clean the mesh, and keep it all as quads. to create the gaps though, i used the connect edges button and I slid the edges around to create the appropriate width, and I welded the necessary vertex. When that is done, you just delete the polygons in question and bam! you have just created a gap.
08-01-2009, 05:25 PM
the car as it stands, **** is too dense for me to render now:
