I wonder about this question for a long time. Anybody know wat is the difference? And what should our model be? A editable polly or editable mesh? Any suggestions?

Since I havn't used max for so long I don't know the exact answer. But there isn't a big diffrence. There are some things poly can do that mesh can't and poly can do everything mesh do. But what I have heard is the mesh is the old metod and poly have gotn more and more powerfull, and is now what is best. This is what I have heard, and I havn't used mesh much. I like the tools that poly have so I am using that.

I was very experienced in working with editable mesh for a long time, but it has some annoying things which editable poly corrects in addition to a whole lot of cool features. The only downside is going from mesh to poly, you have to relearn the toolset. but if you are a total noob and haven't used either before, just stick with editable poly, its much more powerful and easier to use.
Some noteworthy features and the cut tool, preserve UV coordinates, inset polygon, chamfer edges, border selection and cap holes, connect edges. These basic tools in editable poly are something you can't live without once you've used them.

This is also a downside with Editable Mesh:
When you slice through the centre of an Editable Poly quad you get a perfect edge,
and a vertex at each end where it hits the next edge.
In Editable Mesh you will find an extra vertex in the middle of your quad where you've sliced through the invisible edge.
That can be a pain sometimes. I always use Editable Poly, the tools make it a faster option as well.
