Coastline (Max 7)

Hi all,

Can anyone point me in the right direction to creating and animating a coast line in max 7 only (no plugins). As when you get the waves washing up on the beach and then drifting back out.

You're not going to find an easy answer to that one Richard. Even with plug ins you would be hard pushed to get the effect you describe!

Hmmm yes thats what I suspected unfortunatly. I think I will have a mess around and see what I can come up with.

Creating the coatline will be no problem, as with creating the actual water should be simple enough.
It's just the animation that you will have a tough time with, especially the waves washing onto rocks or a beach then receding.
Depending upon the detail you want you could try sloping the beach and then animating the water going vertically up and down, this will give the effect of it washing up and down the beach area horizontally..
