Im taking a break from studying human anatomy to start modeling this creature. this guy base on an orginal concept.
03-07-2006, 01:21 PM
whoa!! crazy concept man lets see some more renders!!!!
03-07-2006, 02:50 PM
thanks for the comment and here is an update.
04-07-2006, 01:46 PM
here is an update. finished the middle face, there are going to be three different ones violence, self content ment, and decay depression.
04-07-2006, 05:39 PM
nice but i think more bigger muscles will look better
04-07-2006, 06:34 PM
I Žd work better on the anatomy, though and define the muscles
IŽd also make the chest a bit heavier, and on the head, IŽd like to see it much more chaotic (more heads, more anguish!! :D) and IŽd seriously recommend it wouldnŽt be symmetrized.
plus, on the concept, I recommend using a dogs leg as a referance.
Looking ofrward to updates :D

thanks for comments guys.
Glottis Im going to make all the muscles more define and make the chest wider. I want part of the head to look compassionite( more human like) and the rest will be sad and tormented. it will not be symmetric when it is done but for now it makes it easier to model with symmetry.

here is an update, the hands and arm muscles are still to boxy still trying to figure out how I want them to look.
09-07-2006, 11:18 AM
here is an update inside zbrush
09-07-2006, 10:17 PM
Looking pretty good, hands are a bit wierd, looks like the tortoise from devilman with the souls on its shell, jinmen http://plasticxo.neuf.fr/Plastic_Devilman/Illustrations/Full%20figures/jinmen_full_A.jpg
10-07-2006, 06:08 AM
yeah the whole arm doesn't look right so Im going to rework in max. first time seeing that devilman character, looks interesting.
12-07-2006, 04:21 PM
here is another update rendered in max, still need to work on the faces more and define the legs. what do you guys think.
13-07-2006, 10:42 PM
here is the start of the texture, it's still a bit sloppy.
14-07-2006, 10:16 PM
here is a lighting test.
19-07-2006, 09:39 AM
here is an update with a close up on the face. I think I just need to clean up the textures and add a good spec. any input would help be welcomed.
20-07-2006, 03:52 PM

15-08-2006, 02:56 AM
here is an other update, I think Im ready to take this into zbrush. Comments, as always are welcomed.
15-08-2006, 04:14 AM
I think it's ready for ZBrush as well. I like the mouth on the horn(I think it's a horn) idea.
16-08-2006, 11:05 AM
here is displacement test in max, still need to make muscles more defined.
17-08-2006, 02:37 AM
here is another update
20-08-2006, 04:29 AM
Another update refined muscle and added bump. still need to texture trapped souls and put him in an environment. Any and all comments and crits are more then welcomed.
20-08-2006, 01:12 PM
much better this way, good work man.
the textures could use some more work though. seem to be lacking something.
22-08-2006, 12:28 AM
thanks Tank, I had to redo the texture because I decided to use the guv map in zbrush instead of using the one I made. started on the environment Im not going make a scene just a small area comments will help.
22-08-2006, 12:54 AM
Nice modeling... but.. DUUDE where are his feets gone? :)) i mean it looks strange that "water" (shiny material) beneath it...
23-08-2006, 09:30 PM
ha ha yeah you might be right gfx still trying to find a way to make it look more like water or even put it in a different environment. I set a new pose(rigging sucks) what do you guys think.
23-08-2006, 09:40 PM
yeah, look ok. i think the claws should wrap around the skull though.
25-08-2006, 12:23 AM
your right tank I wrapped them around the best I could, and here is another update.
25-08-2006, 12:41 AM
Last pic is exelent, wonderful render!!!
25-08-2006, 12:46 AM
I think you need to work on those textures. I like the modeling, exept for the head piece.
26-08-2006, 07:00 AM
thanks for comments guys. I added bump and spec map still need a little work. also brought it into photoshop and tweaked it abit.
27-08-2006, 01:22 PM
Now weŽre talking!
I this last pics are great! I love the texture work and ZBrush
might wanna work on the texxtures around the shoulder area and put some saliva around his mouth.
Keep up the good work!
28-08-2006, 12:47 PM
thanks glottis, I tweaked the textures and some sort of saliva. what do you guys think is this thing good enough to put into a demo reel any thing I should improve on. crits always welcomed.
