View Full Version : Subaru Impreza 2001 WRX bodykit midpoly !

For my new rally mod for cryengine 2 i am creating a Subaru Impreza 2001 WRX, with modified bodykit, only the rear is modified compared to the serie,
3 door version
Total polycount at once at the screen shall be 200.000,
I divided it into 85000 the vehicle
100000 environment
15000 2 drivers

vehicle is current at 34000 with 4 wheels and 4 suspensions feathers

The vehicle will get a damage system like in other rally games, spoiler doors, everything will be breakable, that is why i need to model everything seperatly and need to add thickness to it.
Of course the inside got always less polys.
Till now i am just focused on the main shape, and here and there some details just for fun. I do not have much time to work on it, so I work like 1 hour a day on it.

I got some trouble about the chassis of the vehicle, I needed to check many photographs and sketches, and i bet still some things are not at the right place.
The engine block is created by phantasie, because its role is not that important.

Does the Cryengine2 supports dropable parts depending on damage? Would be cool for a engine developed for an fps.
Otherwise I ask why you model the engine and the trunk. Please don't understand this as the the famous polywaste attack :haha: . But if you cannot lose parts while driving, I think you can really abjure that detail. Looks great though.

Vehicles can loose body parts by projectile damage, I did not tested it if it works with general damage, else I need to ask a coder, and i will definetly need a good coder for the cryengine 2, because I want the dumper and suspension to move physically
cryengine 2, yeah dont know till now

I assume that it will be possible with cryengine 2, so I created the engine block.
Else I will check a different engine because I do not want to make a rally track and car, if there is no damage system.
(Maybe Flatout2 engine if its moddable or colin mcrae)
and else I would just waist my time creating the chassis and inside. and most parts as seperate objects.

and I want to create a little intro in a big garage, therefore I will need the engine either.

cause for a non existing damge system this would be really waisted ;)

are this rearlights allright ?, the glass will get a transparent map,
there where those lightboxes arent, there is a plane for a texturemap faking a red reflektor under the glass,

want the glass to be breakable like in colinmcrae

already fixed this little smoothing error at the red part of the glass
