Hey guys!

I have a project on the go currently in which I need to animate an acorn growing into a full tree. I've done the animation, but now I need to get it into flash without rocketing the filesize through the roof. Anyone have any ideas? the animation is about 20 seconds long, and it's meant to be full screen.

cheers

Oh wow. That sounds like a serious project. While I couldn't tell you the exact workflow, I do think you'll have a heafty flash file on your hands.
Full screen is at least 640 x 480, times 22 fps, times 20 seconds.

are you talking rendering it out as a movie or getting it into vector format for flash. Flash works quite well with video files now so read up on that in flash help. As for vector i would stuggest trying out swift3d. It renders out into a swf format and has lots of optimization options. Good luck.

thanks guys - I think I'll need to use an flv video with flash 8 in order to keep the files as small as possible - I'll look into Swift3d though. cheers for your suggestions!
