Hey guys, this is pretty much my dream car, and I'm going to be changing how the stock 67 looks even though it's an amazing car. I'm not doing Eleanor or anything, but that is the baddest ass mustang out there.

I think I may be doing a complete remodel to get a cleaner mesh, and for some reason the scale is screwed up on the pieces. Some pieces I will use chamfer at a value of .1, and others to get the same thickness i have to use 200. Don't know whats up there, but whatever.. remodel means cleaner mesh anyways.

Things to do:
- Make seams more apparent
-Refine the rough areas
-Figure out a nice front bumper for the car
-Interior
-More details on the motor
-All of the other details...
-Balance the profile of the car with the front bumper, sideskirts and rear bumper
-Model tire tread

It's only up to like 670,000 render primitives so far (from brazil render dialogue) so there is tons of room for improvement. Can't wait to do more work on this but it's time for bed.

And black may hide the detail, but in the end the color scheme will be black with the black wheels and such too. Maybe some white or silver stripes as well. Like Eleanor's evil cousin

Thanks for commentsssssss

deimn :s very very nicely done.. nice modeling and texturing! A bit a shame you can't see more of the car because of the dark bg+paint but that's also what gives the picture a nice tough..

This is a really cool model and car paint.
I am surprised you are wanting to remodel this from scratch, but if you think you can do better then go for it !

Love these cars, will be watching this one ;)

You're modelling has certainly improved over the last year or two, sarN. This is looking good. I like the detail you're putting into it. Take your time and don't rush! A mesh is only as good as the time you put into it.

hey man I like it alot!!! Can we see a clay render?
And I have never heard the term render primitives... What does that mean?

That black color is perfect for that car ;)

nice what did you use for the carpaint, and how did you achieve that realism with brazil? i use brazil too. is that the equivalent of a studio render?

thanks everyone for the comments. unfortunately im busy with some classes and work and white water rafting tomorrow (woo!) but ill get some time to work on it too.

bathtub : no i didnt use blueprints, just references

mystikos : thank you man!

jeremiah : sure ill post some clays. im not really sure what render primitives are but i assume its something along the line of polys.. but i dont know how to count the actual polygons of the smoothed model.

goljat : yeah it will be sweet when its all done :)

tuss4 : i use a gradient ramp set on spherical environment, and then put it in the environment slot. I have one output plane as i call it that gives the white reflections, then i have 3 specular only omnis that go around the car. (spot lights would probably be better butim lazy)

sorry, the output plane is a box above the car. right clikc and uncheck the boxes that say Cast / Receieve Shadows, and Visible to Camera

Then for the material apply the brazil utility, then in the color slot choose output. In the bottom tab of the output one, the first value i change from 1 to 2.3

hey guys, very slow progress. i havent done very much. i changed that back part a lot from what it was before, added that side window piece in the front, and did most of the interior door. i found some wheels that i like better, so maybe i will model those tomorrow. still thinking about some parts. anyways heres what ive got so far!

hey guys, this is just along the lines of how i do seams. my friend was wondering and since i did a quick little tutorial i figured i would post this. it tells you what edges to select, how to make things sharper, and why it makes them sharper pretty much.

sarN Just wondering if you could share your blueprints or post the link where I can download. I checked on www.smcars.net but could not find this :(
