This was something I modelled last night just for fun. Was inspired by this thread (http://forums.3dtotal.com/showthread.php?t=44614) by ClassicGamer.

Is that strange sharp/not sharp effect photoshop or max filter? Its sorta funky.

BlackWolf: There are many variations of this Atari Joystick, but this is the one I used to own so that is why I wanted to recreate this version. There is a fake DOF which was made in MAX but then setup using various layers in Photoshop.

Yeah i was just wondering why the wire at the back had a sharp line but blurry on the shadow, im guessing that map you posted is the alpha map for a gaussian blur? I noticed that tends to get a glowy effect but its hard to do good looking DOF :p

Great model darkboost, and thanks for the inspiration plug :) your modelling looks better than mine, beautiful render also, i forgot to add the white markings on mine, and the sight bump map. Looks really realisitc, great job :)

Diamantos Thanks man, yeah this is 3D Studio Max 6 & Vray
