I seem to have a problem with the eva cd that I recieved today, I've gotten as far as section 5, movie 8 and the sound has become out of sync with the video, it's very frustrating to follow along.

From what I can see, it seems to be the following 2 movies..

section05/08_movie.swf
section05/09_movie.swf

I've skipped through to number 10 and it's seems ok again from that point (so far)

Is this a known problem? Is there perhaps something I can do to fix it?

btw, this tutorial is the best I have ever seen, and I've seen a heck of a lot of 3d studio tuts.

Oh well, no comments from anyone :(

I bought the 2nd dvd today, the texturing one.

No audio at all on the first movie, section 1 movie 6 the audio is out of sync on that one as well.

Is there any chance that you 3d total guys can fix these and maybe upload the corrected versions somewhere for us that have bought the dvd's to download?

Right, I'm getting frustrated with it now, further along on the texturing cd and more audio out of sync with the video.. Did anyone at all check these dvd's over before they were released?

I really think the tutorials are excellent, but the audio issue is ruining it.

:( :( :(

Sorry, about the lack of response dude. The guys are away from the office today,, so I guess they won't be able to get back to you until Monday.

1. As for the audio... is it happening on all of them?
2. And by how much is the audio out of sync?

I think this problem is to do with the capture software, BBFlashback, although I'm not sure whether the effect is the same on all computers. Flash can be very buggy when it comes to streaming sound, so it may not be something we can fix. I'll get the boys to look into it there may be something they can do. And, yes, as far as I know, they watched every last movie.

Apologies for the annoyance.

3. By the way, what is your computer spec?
4. Are your sound and Video Card Drivers up to date?
5. Also, do you have the latest Flash Player installed? (Just trying to think of possibilities.)

this is true, if your computer is slow, low on memory and you running the video plus have max open, who knows what errors you will run into.

pc is an AMD 64 x2 3800, 2gb ram, dual nvidia 7900GT's.

latest drivers installed and the latest flash player installed also.

For a quick example of what I mean, if you have the texturing dvd handy... try following along with section02\06_movie.swf where he's creating Eva's boot.

I want to add, for anyone that might be reading this, that it in no way devalues the dvd which is first rate. I'm definately buying the 3rd in the set when it's released. It's just 3 or 4 places where the audio is out of whack.

Hi Guys,
Mahoosive apologies for not getting back to this one sooner. for some reason I'm not recieving alert emails to let me know someone has posted. I'll check manually from now on. Please note that we did check through these DVD's again and again but were unable to check for every browser / config so there will inevitably be a few unearthed errors. Please remember that as you can see from the sheer number of hours on these DVD's, )not to mention Monte Christo's social life for a whole 18 months!) that an enourmous amount of time has gone into them. We are by no means trying to shortchange anyone. We genuinly want this to be the best training tool possible. Thanks again for your support and good words for our products.

The issues you are experiencing have happened occasionally, but not for everyone. Have no Idea why this is but it must be a certain config which causes it. I have uploaded the required file and will upload any more if requested. The files can be found here along with some fixes to other issues.

Eva v1 : Modeling
Section 04 (missing Movie): On some rare occasions the movie is playing at 32x32 pixels and is therefore not seen on screen. Please open the movie from the root of the DVD from the 'swf' folder and it will play fine.

Movie_09.swf (http://67.15.36.49/slippy/images/eva_v1_movies/09_movie.swf )

Low Resolution 'Starter Images'. Some users have experienced extremely low resolution starter images for modeling from.

This is problem with your customized setting in 3DStudio Max.

1. Open max and go to Customize : Preferences on the main menu bar along the top.
2. Select the Viewports tab and then on Configure Driver tab at the very bottom.
3. Now check the two tick boxes " Match Bitmap as Close as Possible" in the Appearance Preferences.
4. Click on OK and then open the max file again.
When you zoom in the image should be of a higher resolution.
Hope this sorts out your problem,
